Brian and Roger have never explicitly stated that Adam is a band member. It might feel like it after all those years, but it's not official :)

They wanted him after Idol. He said no, both because of contractual obligations but also because he wanted to do his own thing with his music and didn't want to just be the Queen frontman. :) he's not in the band because he doesn't want to be. Adam is Adam and that's the entire point about their tours.

Have listened to Adam sing for about seven years and must say that to hear this voice in person is surreal. I find myself constantly saying, "Whhhhaaaaat did he just sing?" and sometimes just laugh with joy at the impossibility of what I'm hearing. To everything that's already been said about his voice, breath control, range, etc., I'll add this: I can always understand the lyrics when Adam is singing. His diction is naturally clear. I wonder if this stems from his musical theater days when it was important that the audience could understand the lyrics. Glad you discovered this one-in-a-billion voice, Billy. Adam Lambert is a vocal masterclass and Can sing anything his range, mix, transitions and control of his voice is godlike hes this generations best all-around male vocalist/performer He's textbook Technique and he connects with the song so well. He can hit higher notes on key! and can sustain notes with power with his almost perfect breath control, and hes got great vocal resonance, even without a mic he could probably still be heard lol. loved it.
