The reason why people are so weary about intakes is because of exactly what you did. Those plastic pieces are for heat management not air flow. You basically fix the car now to only steeling back the HP because now you’re sucking in hot air. Cold air is more dense and will create more power. But once you close the hood the air filters are only able to suck in air that’s extremely hot.

on vqs the stock airboxes perform better than any short ram intake. Its better to upgrade the filter in the stock airbox than to run ANY shortram. The only way to go is with longtube cold air intake

I remember watching a TJ Hunt video about their brz having issues. They read the codes with a scanner, got the codes, was very obvious what the issue was after that scan, and him and his friends ended the video saying they don't know what's wrong with the car... Because of this, I am not shocked that this idiot's air filters were completely clogged.

Lol WORST air filter set up for the Z/G Hot air intakes that lose power. The HR engine bay gets really hot, so these cars need long tubes like stillen/takeda/z1/admin. You actually get better results with just new K&N stock replacement filters - factory airboxes are actually really good with better filters.

I look forward to see what he builds for the US drifting circuit. Nothing wrong with starting with a Mustang or a Vette. Both cars have a ton of options on getting them ready to rip and you do not have to break the bank to have a drift missile ready to go in the US.

I guess the 69hp they had listed on the LZ invitational roster was accurate haha. Those air filters where soo clogged, engine adaptations need a proper reset after that. Crazy that kind of stuff doesn't get checked before a car is entered in a competition, makes you wonder about critical/safety related components🫣.
