The drum solo is a way for the rest pf the guys to have a quick break. The last time I saw them live (sigh, oh the days of live music) was on March 1st 2020 in Oslo, Norway. The others usually come bounding on to the stage after the solo. In Oslo they didn't.... The concert was in their concert hall, audience of 1200, and the acustics are great, also because the sound-proofing is rather good. The others couldn't hear he was done. He ended up having to entertain us for a full extra 5-7 minutes. It was hilarious - especially seeing the others try to keep straight faces. (He was doing trains, and other sounds, and a lovely little 4-5yo girl asked for Mary Had a Little Lamb - which he did).

Thank you. I've seen that on their home away from home series and wondered what Tim meant when he said Mary had a little lamb went over great. I have tickets to their Christmas concert this month and can't wait. 22 days and counting

ROFLMAO @ your Reaction to Adam ... Dedicated Home Fry here, subscribing now :) Have come across Reactors who do HF simply because they want the huge number of Home Fries out here to swell their Channel Numbers. Because of that, I watch several Reactions before I subscribe, because I want to KNOW that the person I subscribe to realizes and APPRECIATES what they've found with our guys ... Thanks for being one of the SMART ones ;) In the immortal words, though, "You ain't seen nothin'yet" ... This was several YEARS ago, and he's just keeps getting better and better!!

Adam arranged Home Free's version of the Christmas carol "Do You Hear What I Hear?" There's some very impressive beat boxing and Tim has one of his first "let me drop 4 octaves in 5 seconds" moments. Plus it's filmed in an ice castle in Minnesota! Worth listening to in and out of season.

I have heard an interview with Tim there he talks about how a mom told Tim that her deaf son didn't like music (because he couldn't "hear" it so well) BUT he, the son, listen to Home Free because he could feel Tim's voice. 😀 And I agree with you, the voice of Home Free makes you to concentrate. I listen to Home free every night. The whole night. I have sleeping problems but when I hear "Helplessly Hoping" I go in to my self and feel the calming feeling and zzzZzz... 💤💤💤 I'm out!!! (And there you have a song suggestion, Helplessly Hoping. And a "old" song, I think it's about 5-6 years old since Home Free release the video of it. "What we ain't got" that song, and video remember me of Helplessly Hoping. And when you have learn all the names and their register, what they can do and and you don't just talk out of the blue like a "fangirl", and you know you can act like a normal adult. THEN you're ready for the song Mayday. 😁🤪🤫

If you want to get an idea of home Free's versatility after listening to "Man of Constant Sorrow" and Adam's drum solo, you should react to their cover of "Helplessly Hoping". It's one of only a few songs with little or no country flavor (I think - I'm from Nashville, so I may not be the best judge...). It's also one of the few in which there is no vocal percussion.

Great Reaction! I loved it! New sub here! I can see that you are rapidly descending into the rabbit hole of Home Free. It's guaranteed you will enjoy the ride. A good one to react to is HF performing American Pie with none other than Don MacLean. Adam (our beatboxer) does the percussion for all 8 minutes of the song without a break. They all have solos and Don sounds great! As for other songs to react to, everything they do is phenomenal! Mayday is the one you want to wait until you have listened to a few more of their songs. They have some surprises in that one. For a look at them having fun along with providing us with great music, react to the Butts Remix, It's all about the Bass and their Country Fried Pop Medley.

A few things you might want to know about Adam “the freak of nature” from what I have learned He trained in trumpet, so that helps in breath control and learned enough about playing drums to imitate the hand movements. Started learning beatboxing in college, from videotapes, because the group that he and his brother Chris started needed one. Lots of other fun things to learn as you go, but it is ironic that you mention Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”, Because in later shows he does do that song, while singing part of the song and Michael Jackson dance moves including moonwalking…and all while beatboxing!
@doloresburns3301 Жыл бұрын
And this is the oldest of his solos!! He's only gotten progressively better. He's pure genius. It's fitting he is Home Free...he and his brother Chris started the group in 2000. Thanks to them, we have Home Free today😍😍💕💕💕💕

Pretty much ANY song by our guys is amazing! Two things: Do NOT do Mayday until you not only know their names, but can close your eyes and 'picture' exactly who is singing. Believe me, it's worth the wait. The song is incredible in its own right, but if you React too soon you WILL miss the jaw-dropping moments in the song. Also, if you do Guilty Pleasures Derailed, do NOT critique it. Just sit back and go along for the ride -- it's called 'Derailed' for a REASON.

I loved watching you react to Adam. We call him the freak of nature. There are newer versions of him beat boxing/ drum solo. One of him doing Michael Jackson. Adam is a Trumpet player, this is why he can do things without taking a breath as often. He did learn to play drums, so he got the sound right. He plays the guitar as well. He does play the harmonica. He keeps adding things to make his sounds better.

This one was the original drum solo. There are other drum solos from 2021-2022 when they got back out on their Dive Bar Saints tour that had been interrupted by the quarantine. You can hear how his technique has improved. He still sounds terrific.

After watching and listening to them for a while now, I am really wondering exactly what Adam Rupp's range is. As a singer he's a tenor but with his ability to freak out speakers in the low range with his throat singing and some highs he has hit with his invisble harmonica, you have to wonder what he is fully capable of. And to think, he didn't learn beatboxing until college when he and his brother started Home Free. You are truly pulled into the rabbit hole of Home Free now. Welcome to the club!

Every few seconds, he takes a breath - you can almost hear it in places, but he's GOOD. He masks it by making sounds *during* the intake! Funny you mentioned 'Billy Jean' - he does quite a respectable version of that during a later performance. I'm sure one of the other Fries remember the date for it - afraid my memory sucks for dates. Absolutely LOVE your expressions and comments, thank you for sharing these reactions with us! That bass at the end, not sure, but I believe he used a brass instrumental 'peddle tone' lip technique to produce. He's way too clever for any ten people, isn't he?
