Several problems with this, one , I live in Pa. the temp this time of year does not get above 25. They put down so much salt that even when the roads are dry on the highway it’s like driving through a white dust storm. All I do is go to the self car wash to rinse off the salt. By the way, no one has an hour to wash there car at a self car wash with others waiting behind you.
@snapascrew7 жыл бұрын
Robert Jakicic do tires at home before you go to wash. Show up at wash, rinse, fill bucket with water, wash car with truck brush, rinse again. Skip floor Matt’s, leave car wash. Total of 15 minutes inside car wash. Now that you’re in the parking lot do the h20 guard and gloss and hand dry with towel. Durrrrrr

@null22687 жыл бұрын
N711DA Agreed. Nothing except silica Boost is supposed to be used on their coating/any coating for that matter. It messes with the hydrophobic qualities. Shrug.

He said coated and sealed. So, he reapplied sealant. I think the owner of a car care company would know. No?
@joeb57637 жыл бұрын
PAUL F You don't need to seal it after a ceramic coating. All you need is the ceramic coating and a maintenance silica spray about every four or five washes. Maybe some Iron X and Tar X once in a while to decontaminate. But definitely no claying. Waxes or sealants are not necessary. That defeats the purpose of your ceramic properties and hydrophobicity and replaces them with those of the wax or other products. Why then go through the trouble and expense of a ceramic coating? Makes zero sense.
@david_robertson_797 жыл бұрын
This is an awesome video!! My only criticism of it all is that after using some of the products. It tends to need a lot concentrated in one area. Just as you seen when the glass boost was being used. That being said, to the average blue collar guy as myself these products do not go far and are in the much higher price range. Also with all this being said, I am a firm believer in... You get what you pay for but, these products are still in a high priced bracket than I would like and could afford. Maybe reconsider the price point per usage of product. I know that I steer away and find cheaper quality products that I can afford. I love the Adams Polishes products just not the prices.
@theduece52217 жыл бұрын
David Robertson to each their own, but i feel these products are super concentrated and a little bit truly goes a long way. I too am blue collar, but I only use Adams, which I firmly believe are the best on the market. They are also having a 20% off sale right now, go check it out!

Anyone who lives where it snows knows that washing your car the day after a snow is a total waste. The salt and slush linger for a week if not longer. Don't bother getting it this clean. He had every brush known to man and his wheels were dirty before he was even home again.
@DJR52807 жыл бұрын

@shawndejong66997 жыл бұрын
For those of us who live in extreme climates, scratches are unavoidable. Either you wash your car/truck at a coin op, risk moderate to severe damage. Or you sneak in your own stuff and risk a few scuffs. My black jeep right now currently looks like its grey due to the salt etc. It's been too cold to wash (-35c or -31F). Since I used a decent sealant before the snow hit I'm hoping I won't have to use a brush or a mit until spring when I can do it properly.

@waynetibak18287 жыл бұрын
Why clay? Won't the clay remove the ceramic coating!? I'M SO CONFUSED
@davebliley53617 жыл бұрын
No the clay will just take off the bonded contamination. He said he put a ceramic coating on the car before winter so the clay won’t remove that. If you just had wax or a sealant on the car, the clay would remove it or most of it. So some people use a detail wax as the clay lube. Doing that can add a thin layer of wax that stays after the clay was used. But that detail wax doesn’t last as long as “real” wax. Pick up some of the Maguires ultimate fast finish from Walmart. It’s in a aerosol can and comes with a microfiber towel like 13 bucks. It provides good protection and goes on and off fast. Probably 10 or 15 minutes of time after your car is clean. The Fast Finish also lasts a long time. You could do a normal car ten to 15 times with one can.
@joshaden65337 жыл бұрын
Here in Minnesota we would be excited to just have dirt on our cars. Here they are covered in salt that rusts away at the metal. And it is way to cold to properly wash a car outside. That is why I drive a winter beater (2002 Buick Lesabre, not a $70k suv...) so I don't have to care if it's dirty or gets banged up.
@buffalobmf7 жыл бұрын

So you clay a ceramic coated car?
@jaysdetailing26273 жыл бұрын
Before starting the coin op washer you should get a bottle sprayer with warm water then use wheel cleaner and use a wheel brush. Only because they give you a certain amount of time and it can be costly depending where you live.
@joeb57637 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't clay unless your going to polish and reapply a ceramic coat. Claying can really scratch it up. All you need is Iron X and Tar X. That stuff will dissolve right off without hurting or scratching your ceramic coat.
@gamrboy1007 жыл бұрын

That 80k Yukon Denali is your winter beater huh? If you want to reduce scratches and swirls as much as possible you use a micro fiber wash mit. Any brush I don't care how soft will swirl and scratch. Nylon bristles will scratch and you will see that in a dark colored car.
@robabney88087 жыл бұрын
No no... dont wash the nastiest part of you car first and cross contaminate to your paint. The wheels and tires have road grime and the back of your vehicle has the dirtiest painted surface. Start with the top front of your car and work back and down. That way the soap bucket isnt full of grime when you wash the cleanest part of the car. The wheels and tires have a tougher surface than the hood and doors. Some of the heavier particles will fall to the bottom of the wash bucket but alot of it will stay suspended in the wash water. The order in which this guy goes at washing alone makes me question everything this guy says. It is just wrong and he gave it no forethought.
@bretfraz7 жыл бұрын
He used 2 buckets, one for wheels and tires, the other for the body. No rinse bucket in this video. 12:44 shows him dumping out both. His process is fine for washing the "winter beater". Not meant to be perfect, just get it clean.
