Adam joins Wētā Workshop Senior Painter Jules German in the shop's spray booth to paint and dress two prop pig carcasses for Wētā Workshop's horror film movie set! Adam learns to layer and drip paint on these latex sculpts to make them look gross, terrifying, and befitting the attention to detail that Wētā artists put into all their work.

When the gentleman asked if Adam had ever seen a bloated animal carcass I saw Adam have a visceral flashback to that time he and Jamie tried to clean the residue of decomposed pigs out of a Corvette. Also i love at the end how Adam just had to quote Marion's "You sure know how to show a girl a good time" line from Raiders.

It takes a special mind to understand and be able to execute advice like "it needs to look like it smells rotten". Also being able to just add one bit of detail, the white on the rib bones, and make the entire this just pop all thatmuch more shows a true master level of crafting woth out overshadowing the other person's work.

Yea, sometimes you also need that fresh perspective to break up the repetition. I've had some incredible artists do paintover critiques on some of my work and within 5 minutes they'll completely elevate the piece. Just seeing how they've solved some of the problems I was wrecking my head against, through their experiences and a fresh eye on the project absolutely blew me away.

Adam, I know you probably won't see this, but I grew up seeing you on mythbusters and as a little girl, you inspired me to get into science. Now I am super into fandom and cosplay and to see that the person that I loved watching as a kid is also doing the same stuff as me is so inspiring and amazing and I just hope you realize how much you mean to people like me. Lots of Love ❤️

Haha, Adam was so eager to please Richard. Richard looks properly in control, the kind of boss that can be loose and tag along with the crew, but also hardline businessman, at least, from what i can tell from these videos. I'm sure it's a great experience to be involved in anything they do, and i like that their default style is kinda morbid, at least you know that you don't have to be too politically correct about your creations.

What i thought was funny, is that after Richard left for the first time, you could also see the dripping going on on Jules' carcass. To me it felt like Richard was subtly nudging them into what he was expecting the carcasses to look(or smell) like, by adding to Adam's carcass without having to "correct" his employee. Adam looked really eager to please Richard, because it kinda looked like Adam took those hints as criticism of his work, and became almost manic in the process, haha. Like, when Richard put down the paint cup and picked up a rag, Adam quickly exchanged his cup for a rag as well while nodding and agreeing. But i'd probably be the same, it would be great to work there and keeping the boss happy is a big part of that.
