I think Kraft is too old and demented to fire Mayonnaise. Pat's look doomed if they don't fire Mayonnaise. Vrabel, would instantly establish the team's discipline and "professionalism" again IF they could convince him to return. The feared empire needs to grow back it's backbone - and bring back Patriot pride. I don't see it with Jerod. Sorry.

When Brady left, understandably, he could not tolerate Belichick giving him 0 targets to throw to. They got bounced by the Titans like a JV squad in the playoffs - last game of Brady's.

We’re stuck with Mayo because the Krafts don’t want to admit the writing on the wall. Mayo’s coaching ability and his staff are horrible. We’ll have to endure another sucky season before they man up and do what needs done. In the mean time Vrable and anyone else available will be gone. It’s a damn shame.

Not going to happen. The Kraft family is fully committed to Mayo. I believe they would burn through two entire coaching staffs before even entertaining the possibility of firing Mayo. I wouldn't be that surprised if Drake Maye sought better opportunities before Jerod finds himself on the hot seat. A QB as good as he seems to be won't likely settle for mediocrity long term- which is what the Patriots are on a good day.

Case in point, the game where the Pat's defense got 8 sacks or whatever - had Barmore NOT playing. They played like attack dogs without him. That performance, has not been addressed as a winning formula in the pass rush or replicated since. Why hasn't Jerod improved this defense from previous years? It has gotten much worse and SOFT this year.

They have 2 guys who can be great slots - Bourne and Douglas, possibly Gibson. They can run a shifty short ball game and score that way, albeit boring as it sounds.

@@NEPat24 Consider some kind of visible development as a sign of improvement on coaching. We can lose any and every game as long as there are not repeated failures. then you can say, it is lack of talent, but we have a good coaching. But we don't. Mayo looks helpless on the sideline and doesn't have the ownership approach. Belichick was bad with the press, but never ever throw anyone under the bus. Mayo did that more than once. I don't want a HC like that, I wouldn't work for a boss like that.

The problem you aren’t seeing, or your avoiding, whichever its is. Is that the progression is getting worse, not better. Look at Carolina, same record but they are trending upwards and getting more competitive, albeit they did not look good against Dallas but if we played them they would spank us. The disfunction in the Pats organization right now exists without regard to their record. This team had a few games that with a break or two going their way, could have gave them 5 or 6 wins but that would not have made them any less dysfunctional. What they do over the next 3 games is irrelevant to the dysfunction that still exists and that dysfunction starts with the leadership of this organization. When you talk about leadership, that starts with ownership but the only thing ownership needs to do in order to create leadership, is to hire football leaders and stay out of their way. When the Kraft's have done this, they have been successful, when they haven't done this, they have not been successful. To make a long story short, they hired Mayo based on one interaction with him on a trip to Israel. They ignored the experience it takes to be a NFL head coach and steer your organization. Bill Belichick had years and years of football education that went back to learning under his dad at a very young age. Even then, he struggled with his first head coaching job but learned from it so that he was ready the 2nd time. Mayo is greatly under experienced and no 3 game stretch till the end of the season is going to change that. Vrabel, while maybe not having quite the same background that Belichick had, still is far beyond where Mayo is at this point. Nobody can deny that including the Krafts and had they not made the egregious mistake of putting all their eggs in the Mayo basket and appointing him heir, they would have gone with Vrabel last year. That was the "head" move rather than the "heart' move for which they hired Mayo.
