This is one case where it is not so much a trope that relatives look identical, but since Soong is a mad scientist (and I gave up trying to figure out their whole 'family' timeline), his future manifestations are likely clones of himself. I bet his favorite movie is Being John Malkovich. 😄

really a shame they must paint the Soong's sociopathic mad scientist types. thank you Star Trek Enterprise😒. The other bad part is Brett likes playing them. he got to taste the crazy with Arik Soong and just kept going.
@SquirrellyOtter2 жыл бұрын
I don't think Arik was crazy or sociopathic. He certainly had a different moral code than most of his peers and contemporaries on Earth, but he wasn't amoral or without empathy. He tried to pass himself off as such to shock and disgust the Starfleet officers he encountered, but he ordered his Augments against harming the guards and hostages at Cold Station 12, rejected the Augments' use of biological warfare against the Klingons, and began rewriting the DNA of the Augment embryos to be less aggressive. These are not the actions of an amoral madman. He was willing to take hostages to keep the Enterprise from interfering with his operations, yes, but he didn't want to inflict bodily harm or death like Malik. He had a line he was unwilling to cross and he stayed the course, to the point of betraying his hyperviolent children to Starfleet and giving Enterprise the means to brutally disable their ship. Arik was selfish and arrogant, but not unreasonable, amoral, or unempathetic. He certainly wasn't insane. He's a complex three dimensional character and your misrepresentation is not accurate.

Star Trek has always recycled actors especially with the Soong family Brent Spiner (Data, Lore, B-4, Noonien Soong, Arik Soong, Aldan Soong, Adam Soong) which I suppose makes sense as both Arik and Adam are geneticists with experience in cloning and genetic modification.
