As always, Adam I am watching your channel on a weekly basis because I love the content you have for the weekend classic/supercar type events (as they are properly organised and strictly static). But I agree with the majority of comments, these weekday, evening meets are getting very DANGERIOUS because of certain individuals! It's better off being held on a weekend, during the day, in a private venue (a field perhaps?) and strictly static. Until such a time comes and is decided to be the way, the meets should be stopped to avoid people getting seriously hurt! But we all know it's just going to move to another Location such as Bracknell, Camberley (Where a Section 5x was imposed not so long ago) or Basingstoke.

Of course the police will shut it down, when you have pricks doing 70+ in a 40 what do you expect 🤷♂️
@markwright31612 жыл бұрын
Doing 70 mph on the clear side when there's no other traffic isn't as bad as doing 30-40 mph 2 cars wide through the pedestrian littered side. Far higher risks of hitting someone there even at significantly lower speeds. The biggest idiots (besides those who couldn't keep their trousers up) are all those driving in their lane inches away from the walls of pedestrians, meet attendees/showoffs and passers by alike. When the risks are as high as that, cars should all be single file balancing the risk between the numbers of pedestrians on each side of the road, and slow enough to stop if an idiot pedestrian steps out, or falls out, into the road right as they're passing. You wouldn't do more than 5 mph through a pedestrian zone packed with people, even if it was private property and therefore legal to do 100+ mph there. 70+ mph on the open side is the least dangerous thing to happen here.
@stevemarshall34812 жыл бұрын
@@markwright3161 it's 40 for a reason and of course, an out of control car doing 70 couldn't go through the railings could it 🤡
@markwright31612 жыл бұрын
@@stevemarshall3481 The reason it's 40 is because some politicians or people they are in some way linked to the employment of said so. If I was in their position I would eliminate all speed limits and make what's currently defined as 'advanced' driving the minimum to hold a licence while improving public transport and traffic policing more the compensate for fewer people legally capable of driving themselves and more effectively clamp down on those who would persist to drive illegally without a licence as a result. As for the barrier comment. Looking at the road layout, at some point this road will likely have had a higher limit, could easily have been national at some point, or at least it was built to that level in design potentially with that intention, but had a lower limit stuck on it when the politicians got involved, therefore the barriers will have been built to 'motorway standards', which require a car to be deflected away from the other carriageway at speeds at and exceeding (as everything has built in factors of safety) 70 mph. Therefore the barriers will have been designed for that very purpose, to prevent an out of control car previously travelling at 70 mph from entering the other carriageway. The fact any car travelling fast is going to hit it at an angle, and that they're designed to bounce cars, etc back into the carriageway they're already in, and larger heavier vehicles than a car (at lower speeds, but considerably more force behind them), means even cars travelling at even greater speeds will not get close to actually breaking through. They'll deform it into lane 2 at worse, but the section of sort of 'footpath'/raised pavement area is likely enough to restrict how much they even manage that. I paused at 3:35 to look at the road better before commenting everything above. Green signs mean the main A road route, the advanced roundabout sign looks to be quite a way back from the roundabout and being in the central reservation suggests an expectation for faster flowing traffic than 40 mph. I tried to compare the roads to roads near me where I know the limits for them, but funnily enough, the 2 I checked against that are 70 mph don't have any barriers between carriageways. The one in a town has a section of raised pavement similar to that under the barriers here, but without the barriers (although it is a straight bit of road compared to the curve in the video), the other is a countryside dual carriageway with a thin strip of grass between the carriageways. There's a 50 mph zone that becomes a national, or the opposite if you're going the other way, that looks similar to this. I think 50 mph is the fastest limit they put around traffic lights now, as that seems to be when the limit changes. Anyway, where faster roads have barriers, this is very similar, although everything 40+ mph seems to be the same as the 40 zone I looked at also shares similar details, although I don't know the history of its speed limit in the past. As it leads to the 70 mph zone over a bridge in the town, split only by a roundabout, it could easily have been a 70 mph zone a few decades ago. The barriers seem to be more about keeping drifting traffic from entering the pedestrian crossing or something than anything else going by the fact so many national limit zones have nothing at all in central reservations as narrow as the one in the video. When I then tried to look into the barrier types alone, 2 types came up. The more recent design identified by the manufacturer 'Armco', vertically creased/rippled, is designed to deform more than this older C-section/box style, so this barrier is actually stronger than the 'Armco' style more common on motorways, and would therefore resist a car crashing through it more, so the layout I was trying to compare was pointless, the barrier's design is more resistant to things crashing through it than those used to stop vehicles bursting through them on 70 mph roads, so an out of control at 70 mph car won't make it through those barriers, even if they're only used on lower speed roads.

Accelerating like that where there is a massive group of pedestrians in the road is the biggest no. Driving through the group 2 wide is idiotic at anything close to even half the speed limit here (which another comment suggests is 40mph), regular passer-by traffic included (when they're posing a risk to other road users, the pedestrians). There are obviously some complete idiots in the crowd, I wouldn't want to be less than half a lane away from them mucking around without any concern for themselves or anyone else, that's at a fraction of the posted limit too. The police haven't helped the actual safety issues much at all here. In previous videos they've seemed to let 'regular traffic' that has clearly passed the group of pedestrians too close, inches away from them at times at a significant percentage of the speed limit, far too fast for those conditions, go and seemed to specifically target cars that accelerate on their own down the empty side where they're not posing a risk to anyone with a speed trap at the roundabout where no pedestrians ever stood, well, until they set up a speed trap, then a load of pedestrians took an interest.

German cars make Focus STs look rare. I generally find it's either people in Audis and Bimmers or those driving total s*it boxes which go drifting around gravel car parks or drive like Stevie Wonder on crack.

You know we aren't complaining against Adam right? There's always someone like you that doesn't get it. Adam isn't the problem here, the problem was the idiots sending it at large crowds. What do you expect the Police to do? Nothing to do with Adam and his content 🤦♂
