California requires businesses with as few as 5 employees offer Family Medical Leave! But, the state pays for 8 weeks of benefits and employers do not have to pay them, just hold their position. So basically mom and pop businesses have to work overtime because we have so few employees. This was imposed by big business lobbyists. They have ruined our once great state.

My parents each worked multiple jobs until they passed, us kids made our own breakfast and prepared our own lunch for school daily. Latchkey kids, all of us. After working like a slave my mom managed to make us a simple but filling dinner every nite. When I hear about "parental leave" I laugh. No, I didn't turn to gangs or go to prison. I work hard just like shown, by example.
