6:36 flags are penalty markers, meaning an official saw something on the field that was against the rule, the officials usual have a quick conference to confirm the penalty, and it usually results in a loss or gain of yards depending if the penalty was on the offensive or the defensive.

A player named Ronnie Lott's finger was broken so badly during a playoff game, he couldnt return to the game. In fact, he needed surgery asap to fix it. So he told the doctors to cut the finger off, so he could finish the game. They did, and he was back on the field the same game, with 9 fingers. MERIKA!!!!

7:53 A couple of my guy friends spent $100 for the Deluxe Edition just so they could play the game a week early 😂. I'm not usually into sports video games but I used to play the old College Football 2013 game like 10 years ago with my uncle because he had it. We used to choose some of the worst teams like Ball State and take them to a big bowl game at the end of the year. Glad they are coming out with a new one next month. Brings back memories when I used to go to his house on the weekend and play it with him.

College games have a clock that stops every 1st down, allowing teams more time to plan and execute plays. This can extend the game and lead to higher scoring matches. In contrast, the NFL's clock rules are stricter, leading to faster-paced games that demand quicker decision-making from players and coaches. There are some overtime rule differences. College football serves as a development stage for athletes, they are required to be at least 3 years out of high school to enter the NFL Draft.

You asked if there are any rules on hitting. The rules for NFL, College, and even Highschool are basically the same, just with small adjustments and technicalities to match the skill level. The general guidelines are no helmet to helmet contact during a tackle, and no leading a hit with the crown of your helmet, and no hitting the ball carrier above the shoulders.

At 7:50, a flag was thrown because the defender hit the receiver helmet to helmet. Defender should be tossed out of the game for that these days. Don't know how old the clip was but it has been illegal for a fair amount of time. Used to "just" be a personal foul, 15 yard penalty and replay the down.

Yea, now after the whole thing with concussions. You can't hit the helmet (at least on purpose, and even then), other places as well. No holding on the tackle, and unsportsmanlike conduct can and will get you ejected from the game, stadium, and even if bad enough suspended and/or banned entirely. (Like taking out hits so to speak (literally going out on purpose and tackling down so hard that it is clearly intended to injure or worse))
@grantdowling85505 ай бұрын
Rules these days are basically you can’t use your helmet as a “weapon” to initiate your tackle. You can’t hit a helpless receiver, meaning you cant hit a receiver from their blindspots during the catch, and you can’t drive a QB into the ground or hit him below the knees.

Out of 134 Division 1 schools with about 120 players on each team only about 250 college players will be drafted in any given year by the NFL. So most college teams at best may have 2-5 players that get drafted by the NFL. Another 100 or so players every year may get into the NFL as undrafted free agents and end up on the practice scout teams, but only a handful of those will eventually end up as a regular player and actually play in an NFL game.
@supersasukemaniac5 ай бұрын
Actually he odds are even less then that, since players from every Division of College Football (1-3) and both Subdivisions of Division 1 (FBS and FCS) are in the draft pool. so it's more like 900+ schools or something like that.

I find the college games more interesting to watch than the pros. It was explained to me that college is like the minor leagues of football so in reality you are auditioning for a slot in the NFL every week. The NFL players have the job already so they have to show up but they also need to stay in good enough shape to be able to play day in and day out. I guarantee that at my best I would have never lasted a week in the NFL. I was told that when both players have a chance to get to full speed if they hit square on it’s the same force as running two compact cars together head on at 30 mph.

They’re some new rules against hits that have made the game soft and frustrating to watch at times now. Like it the helmets hit or if somebody is blindsided or defenseless. It’s sad n has made the game much softer than it used to be. Used to as a defender you’d use a huge hit to send a message and get momentum for you’re team. It’s a lot harder to do that in this new Era. CFB is still the best though.
@kyleclarkson47685 ай бұрын
Rules are pretty much the same as the NFL with hits. When you catch a pass, you have to get 2 feet down in the nfl, you only need 1 foot in college football.

@NotEvo125 ай бұрын
With the hits being illegal or not through different leagues, not really. College the hits will honestly be harder more likely just because they have a lot of rules for hitting. But highschool probably has the least amount of set rules for hitting because there’s no instant reply so an illegal hit can easily be looked over as a legal hit
@jeremysmithers61195 ай бұрын
If you think these hits are hard, look up Michael Robinson’s hit on Brandon Owens back in 2005. Or Zack Dumas’s hit way back in 1989-1990. Two of the nastiest hits I’ve ever seen.
@ChadB19885 ай бұрын
In any football game, a defender cannot lead with the crown(top of his helmet) in making a tackle or specifically target the ball carrier or quarterbacks head. That’s what you’ll hear called targeting in some of these videos. Now that said, sometimes the zebras(referees) make too loose of an interpretation of that rule and call targets when it clearly wasn’t a goal to target the head on a tackle.
@supersasukemaniac5 ай бұрын
which is why, ever since the Targeting rule was implemented, it's always put under video review. If the review overturns the Targeting call, then the penalized player is allowed to stay in the game, but i think the personal foul still stands.
@Widow_Son5 ай бұрын
The rules on hitting are the same as far as what you can and can’t do the only difference would be the how big of a penalty you get like targeting in the nfl is just 15 yards targeting in college they get suspended for a half or half of the next game depending on what quarter it happened in and 15 yards
