Hi! I'm a freediver in Belgium, and while we cannot really freedive in the sea we have some pretty quarries where the visibility is non-existent until you hit the thermocline. I've got to say it's kinda disturbing as a beginner, because you can't evaluate your depth in these conditions. But hey, it's also why I keep watching your videos, to discover and motivate myself to maybe one be able to dive in clearer (and warmer) waters! Thanks!

The algae is most probably a colony of algae that has formed from old roots or hemp type ropes decomposing, the algae bonds into complex structures that feel like a soft rubber.

You should ask the cave divers about all the sinkholes in Mt Gambier. We know that the Sisters is always green & horrible, although there are a few old cars in there which are interesting, but they are in the deeper sections which are on the sides of the sinkhole and possibly under the overhang as well.

You think that’s bad. Or scary. Come to our mining diving here in Montreal Quebec Canada. Plus thermoclines like you cannot imagine. Look up Morrison’s Quarry in Wakefield Quebec. Amazing diving a plane , couple cars , small submarine. Things to play in. But like I said. It’ll test you skills coming from your war diving. It’s only 35-37m but worth the explore. You can spend all weekend there and still wanna keep diving.

Wow...you guys in Aus. are so spoilt with your fantastic clear, tropical ocean water. You honestly want to know where to find waters like that to dive in??...well, I live in BC, Canada (near Vancouver), our coastal waters look like this green soup almost all year long...no more than about 5-15ft vis. in the top 10m of water, but then once you pop through the bottom of the thermocline we start getting great vis (50+ ft). The winter is the time to dive here (you need a 7mm suit though), great vis from the surface all the way down. As usual, love the video!! Keep it up, & happy New Year!
