Hello Adam, first of all. Thanks for making this videos it really helps to boosting your P3D. I have an extra question: I am reading al lot about affinity mask. What Lasso does is that the some as the affinity mask? Or is it a seperate tweak?
@AdamJPestridge3 жыл бұрын
In a way yes, Process Lasso does more for the power management applied to the pc and then allows you to set an affinity to the cpu threads/cores for the sim to take advantage of.... in all fairness, what Process Lasso can be done by yourself using Windows 10 Power Plan profiles and unlocking the full potential with one of my other videos, which makes Process Lasso completely void as it takes more cpu utilisation than what it preserves.

Many months later and maybe a silly question... does process lasso needs to be running always? tks
@AdamJPestridge3 жыл бұрын
Yes. It runs in the background..

Note to all, and @Adam, in my case (Ryzen 3700X - 8 cores HT OFF) turning off last 3 cores for Prepare3D.exe is making the sim lagging when the plane starts accelerating (fixed by turning them back on), so that wont work in most cases, tweaking P3D is not an easy task and it depends on many types of CPU/PC

Remembering that this video is coming from a an Intel Cpu set up and will not be the same of course for other cpus.. thank you for pointing this out again..

is overclocking the cpu recommendable? wouldnt it force it more? I produce music with my PC, i dont do graphic stuff or flying haha
@AdamJPestridge3 жыл бұрын
I’m purely talking about overclocking in flight simulation.. Boosting the cpu speed tho, is another thing.. that can safely be done via the BIOS and is safe for gaming and flight simulation, including other apps as well.. most manufacturers will have a profile to set it too for boosting the cpu..

@@AdamJPestridge I understand. I think I was talking about the one in the BIOS. Thank you man!

it doesnt say bitsum high performance in my power options, but only high performance. does that have anything to say?
@AdamJPestridge3 жыл бұрын
if you have purchased process lasso and installed it, the power profile will show

I have experimented with lasso using p3d v4.5 because of ctds. Found that setting p3d cores to 1-15 solved ctds.

I’m glad you found it useful. Each cpu is different and what will work on one, won’t necessarily work on the same type for someone else tho..

Does it apply to my ryzen 7 processor?

Must likely not as RyZen is better at multi tasking anyways... process lasso is supported Tho by those cpus I believe
