I'm with you, such a struggle to intential cull healthy fish. The fry have grown really well

Same here. First one that caught my eye once they were pulled out of the fry tank, and I honestly couldn't stop looking at it, it's a beautiful fish, though I'm not sure if it's the most desirable color-wise. I don't know much about koi beyond the basics, but like every fish enthusiast, I have my preferences is suppose XD

It was worth the wait on seeing some of the fry! Beautiful colors. They sure have grown a lot! The last one you put in the main pond the orange black & white one is my favorite. If I had to go to a shop & buy some I’d be all day trying to decide what ones to get.

Good on you Adam for not doing the cull, I hate that my self, they have grown so much, odd few little ones but they all look in good health, I love the Soragoi in the last bowl and the shiro muji with the Ginrin are the best, when they are so friendly and can always be seen in your pond

Well done to you for not killing any, they will be some one’s pond filler in the future. 🇬🇧

Totally agree with you Adam, I couldn't cull any either. The survival rate from Cuttlebrook I'm really impressed with too. Mine were jumbo and not heated with less than 10% death rate. This year its all change with heated grow on tank. Lovely update Adam, shared to our club page. Stay safe & well.

Someday I hope to have a place where I can have a pond again. I had one growing up, and I've never lost my love of them. We only had goldfish, but it was still beautiful and relaxing, and I miss it dearly. I only found out about koi a year or two before I moved out, so we never got to get any.

You are lucky after culling still have a lot of good quality koi left, if I have source will do your way, it gives surprise and better to buy the medium size koi from farms. Wish you more success in future.

Always good content! I think I’m most impressed with the size of them with the amount of water they are in and the filter keeps up with demands. The rdf seems to be a fantastic filter and I’m excited to have a Draco on hand to be installed soon. The Profidrum seems to be awesome though. Nice going on everything.

Great video and great growth! I read somewhere saying fish produces stress hormones into the water when they are crowded. To be able to keep them growing some people use potassium permanangate to destroy the hormones. I wonder if you do this? Thanks!

The ones that made it to the main pond are like when humans win the lottery, they've hit the jackpot for a life of luxury... Lucky little blighters... They've just moved out of the council pond to the mansion pond.... 😀🙂👍

New to this channel so I have no idea do you sell koi or just keep?
@JakeBarger3 жыл бұрын
So as a longtime subscriber and fishkeeper who is also a big fan of aquaponics, I'm curious why you don't use any plants for nitrate removal, ph and bacteria balancing, etc. Even just a few plants thrown into what was your bacci shower setup with a light could have helped with nitrate removal and you get some nice looking cosmetic plants. I assume right now there's no need cause you're running constant water change setups, but could be a way to save money / effort.

hi adam, where did you manage to get your tank from?
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
Ive had this tank years they aren't very common any more unfortunately. It's best to ask on facebook groups what people recommend as there are some good companies out there but i don't have any experience with any.
@mctank13 жыл бұрын
How many litres is the fry tank? I’m thinking of doing a grow on tank, will be about 2500 litres with a multibay filter, will be heated to 23 degrees. How many 4 inch should I look at getting initially? 25/50/100? Thank you
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
It's 1200litre my advice would be to start small and find out what your system can handle especially a new system you need to break it in before heavy stocking it.
@theprojectchannel50453 жыл бұрын
What do you do with a the koi do you sell them? Do you keep a lot of them? Just curious because you have a ton of fish

@wolfhound86753093 жыл бұрын
I got my mother a koi pond in the garden put expensive koi in ... and her favorite by far is the koi from a grocery store I got to use as a canary before I put the big ones in. Value for a ton of people is personality not pattern.... they just don't all have KZbin channels

@paulgoldsmith26533 жыл бұрын
Totally off subject but I’ve seen you salt your pond , I’ve been on cuttlebrook site as I have a parasite issue, I see they say a certain salt content can kill some parasites, a lot of koi owners completely bash the idea , I’ve just salted to 0.5 and raised temp slightly to bring the cycle on quickly as I don’t want to use chemicals, I’d love to know your preference to ich please
