Oh, Saint Saiya is a classic among classic and I would appreciate if Netflix never decided to get it. Their show is an insult to fans and the original story and doesn't deserve any kind of attention. I wish America would just stop ruining good stuff for "political" reasons. Anyway, basically, the series focus of the reincarnation of Athena, Saori Kido, adopted as a baby by a rich man who dedicated his life having kids all around the world so they would train to be Saori's knights when she'd become older. She's in danger because the leader of the knights, the Grand Pope from Athenes, killed the previous one and sees her as a threat. There are different titles of knights, all based on constellation : the Golden Zodiacs, the Silver Knights and the Bronze Knights. Our heroes are only bronze knights but have to fight a lot of ennemies to save Saori's life, especially at the Sanctuary, the most basic rescue mission of all that inspired stuff like Bleach. Seiya is our main character, that's why I always find it stupid when other shows don't focus on him. I know it's a brand thing but come on...

- Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas the story takes place 200 before the events of the original anime, shows the holy war of Athena vs Hades - Saint Seiya Omega takes place 25 years after the events of the anime, with a new generation of knights, but still has the main characters from the original anime. - Saintia Sho takes place in the same period as the anime, but with other characters - Saint Seiya Soul Of Gold the story focuses on the gold knights and takes place in Asgard This anime has several spin-offs, my favorite is the classic anime and Lost Canvas, there is also the CGI film Saint Seiya - Legend Of Sanctuary that is worth reacting to.

Friend, start watching from 1986, the story revolves around Athena, the goddess, who is the protector of the earth from other gods, especially Hades, and Seiya is her saint along with other holy knights, as there are saints in the Catholic religion. The constellations of the stars are their emblems, such as the Pegasus, among others.

Muy buena reacción, creo que solo te faltó el Opening de The Lost Canvas. Te recomiendo mucho la serie 43:11 esta serie fue muy criticado por el CGI, una serie hecha por Netflix. Lamentablemente cambiaron tanto la historia para que se adaptara al público de Estados unidos Incluso a Shun de Andrómeda (El personaje con armadura rosada) le cambiaron de sexo, siendo originalmente hombre tanto en el manga como en la serie clásica de los 80s.

I just recommended it in your Gundam SEED video 😁 3. In your reaction to OP2 (version 2) 10:57, you seem to click away just before the unique scenes played out which what made it different from version 1 😅. Let me assure you, when I put a video in my playlist, there must be something important about it to watch. I don't just put the same videos in my list for no reason. 4. Your guess is spot on. The girl with the purple hair is the human incarnation of Athena. 5. There are *88* star constellations, not just the 12 Zodiacs. And yes, that includes Pegasus, Dragon, Phoenix, Cygnus (swan) & Andromeda (the chained princess) which the 5 protags got their powers from. 6. The original 1986 show is always the best option but if you don't have time, you can check out the newer CGI Netflix series to get to the story faster despite some differences. 7. Saint Seiya manga was written & ran the same era as JoJo manga back in the 80s. Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star), Saint Seiya & JoJo were like the Big 3 of 80s action shounen manga back then.

I think it's better to watch The Lost Canvas, even though it's not canon it depicted what's great about Kurumada's creation without the unnecessary and boring stuff also it covers the Holy War which could've been the peak of the original anime if they did not have so many issues. The original anime is too long and had too many issues in the last season, besides the filler. The Netflix is an insult to the fans so it's better to watch the CGI movie from 2014 in case you want to see the fight in the Sanctuary against the 11 Golden Knight's (Aioros was already dead by then so not included)

Also, when it comes to Dragon Ball, 80s aesthetics does not really come to mind since it was pure fantasy. Unlike Hokuto, JoJo & Saint Seiya where their aesthetics are more 80s than the timeless-looking characters in DB.

As the anime has many episodes I recommend you react to Saint Seiya - Legend Of Sanctuary, is a CGI animation based on the anime. The movie is not perfect and has changes, but it's a great introduction to the story.

Yes! It was pretty good, second best CGI adaptation only second to Gantz. The live action movie of Saint Seiya from last year was really bad and the original anime had too much filler

You're completly wrong. The original should be watched before anything even with the fillers, is not too much episodes. Watching modern trashes will not introduce correctly to the universe. In my opinion of old fan, only Lost Canvas should be watched after the original. Everything else is terrible. Saint Seiya is like Star Wars, in my opinion, the true feeling of SW is the original, after we have a lot trashes and just few good things, the same happen with Saint Seiya.

There is a manga for Saint Seiya. Viz published all 28 volumes of the original manga run. It's up on their website. Also, there are 88 constellations. The 12 signs of the Zodiac are just 12 of the 88 Constellations that align with the path of the Sun.

The original anime was the most famous anime in all Latin America before Dragon Ball Z started airing. It was arguably more popular than the original Dragon Ball or Naruto, especially in Mexico. Dragon Ball Z obviously took over and to be fair the animation studio and anime creators had too many issues to adapt the later seaons (budget I guess)

Is not actually Gundam per se. It does have some machine robo elements like the guys dressed in heavy gear but these are ancient armors called Cloths rather than mech suits. If I had to describe it for Americans that have never seen it I'd say its kind of like a cross between Sailor Moon and The Fist of The North Star.

Pegasus is a constellation. All Saints are star related and greek mythology. The core is mythology, legends... the number of statues in the opening.

The OG Saint Seiya anime is outdated in some aspects, but it's still the best. Bloody, brutal, great music, lots of emotion. Not perfect, but the characters are really cool and you'll definitely get attached to many of them. Watch the anime up to the Sanctuary Arc, one of the most satisfying anime arcs out there, in my opinion.

andromeda Shun cygnus Hyoga dragon Shiryu pegasus Seiya phoenix Ikki the gold ones are 12 zodiac signs/constellations. they fight for athena as her knights, they have armors that represents the 88 constellations. the black ones you saw are the hades ghosts, they represent 108 evil stars. Lost Canvas, soul of gold and Omega are spinoffs. Lost Canvas is about Hades war 200 years ago. Omega is like a new generation of knights. Soul of gold are the gold knights against odin warriors.

Only in the United States Saint Seiya did not become popular, even Dragon Ball had a hard time becoming popular in the United States compared to Latin America. Saint Seiya was or is very popular in Latin America and Europe.

I highly recommend watching Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas. It isn't canon but it's definitely the best one and only has one season divided into two halves, that covers the Holy War between Athena and her knights and Hades and his spectres. The original one was too long and had a lot of filler, and the first arc is kind of boring and hard to follow. The arc of the sanctuary in the first season is amazing tho. The Lost Canvas has all the good stuff of the original series with different characters including a different protagonist wearing the Pegasus Cloth (armour) and Athena. It has only one season so give it a shot, the animation is good there compared to any other season. Saint Seiya Omega was some kind of remake but not entirely as the original protagonist appears there but wearing the Sagittarius Golden Cloth, it's trash. Soul of Gold isn't canon to my knowledge, but not that great from what I remember. And the last one is definitely a remake from Netflix that's 🗑️ There's a CGI movie that came out in 2014 that was interesting and recommend, covering the Sanctuary Arc which was the best in the original anime. Finally a live action movie came out in 2023 that's absolute 🗑️ and has nothing similar to the original anime other than the name of the protagonist (the others don't appear).
