We used to ALWAYS get new main pop girls, but it has become harder and harder for new artists to achieve stardom. The "Main Pop Girls" have remained pretty much the same in the past decade.

I feel like the closest we've gotten to a "Main Pop Girlie" recently are Doja Cat and Olivia Rodrigo despite the fact they have more hiphop and alt rock vibes respectively. They both have amazing discographies, mass market appeal, and critical acclaim but Olivia has a more subdued image that doesn't draw you in while Doja Cat I guess would be under the "wild child" label of the early 00's. They both have the potential but it all depends on if they can truly capture long term attention. Dua Lipa is definitely a main pop girlie too but she kind of sky rocketed past the "rising star" and right into "house hold name" status that people forget about how prominent she is

I would not consider Sabrina Carpenter to be new, since she already has got like 5 or 6 albums. She started gaining fame in like 2014 almost same as Ariana...

The landscape of music changes all the time. I just see it in my opinion as just another shift. I mean what's trendy maybe 2 to 5 to even 30 years ago may not resonate with the modern audience of today. Not all things of course( retro revival 😂). Nowadays the billboard charts are now seeing the popularity of genres like House, Country, Reggaeton, Afrobeats(mixed), and even Punk. Even how artist choose to represent themselves(commercially) has shifted(always transforming btw). Love the video!!💗💚

I really can't see there being a new Ariana, Taylor, Rihanna, Beyonce, Katy or even Miley. main pop girls just haven't been able to connect like these women did. more recent but not too new cases like dua and billie still did a fantastic job and managed to get to their level of success both with the gp and on charts, and while I do love Sabrina, Olivia and Tate I just don't see them connecting or having the impact that someone like ari or tay has had on generations when it comes to music. I also think its because all of THE pop girlies are still making music and even tho they're getting "older" , it really isn't hampering heir ability to tour, make music , have families and yet rule the charts. tbh I think we collectively don't wanna let that era of pop girls go yet, and I see why,- pop stars just don't pop star the same anymore. so it really comes down to the gp when it comes to their success and how accepting we are of them eventually replacing some of our favs or letting them take their Time to conquer , but honestly I don't think its anytime soon. having a part of a song go viral on tick Tok is great, and while that song also may chart on bbtop10 their albums won't and I've seen that with Tate and Sabrina. so ya I think it'll take time for them to be more than just tik tok hits stars and get like a grammy nom for example. it'll def take time esp since our old pop girls aren't retiring anytime soon

I mean no one is serving vocals near Ariana level. No one is performing at Beyonce’s level. No one has the musicality that Lady Gaga does. The only one that was coming up with the same sense was Doja Cat and she killed that opportunity with her fucked up antics.
