Click 'Read More' for some important stuff. I am aware some of the music is too loud and the cuts make the music itself jarring. I have some ideas in place to prevent this in future series but this one is already recorded so can't do anything about it. I also know some of the transition types are jarring. Remember, work in progress on this experimental series. :) This is the first edited (non guide) video series on the channel! This will be a learning process for both me and the editor, be nice! :P The goal was to still have the same chill feel from a normal full-length vod, but to condense it for easier watching. The ultimate goal will be to have one of these out to you every weekday and a guide every weekend (eventually). Like the long form content more or want to watch both? Never fear! That will also continue. I may test putting them on a different channel or still just add them here as well. We'll see. This is all very experimental. Second channel if I decide to go that route - youtube.com/@adamvsarchives Download the Xenotype etc from this run - adamvseverything.com/downloads Give me your feedback over on my Discord - discord.gg/CaSDVp3

Really enjoying the edited videos. I tend to listen to twitch while busy doing other things, so I miss a lot, but can't possibly watch that many hours all over again. Watching these short ones, I get to catch up on the great things I missed, and see the other good parts twice! Great job. I think the editor is doing an excellent job-- I don't like a lot of interruptions but I laughed out loud multiple times during this one. Poor decomposing Mule, Adam looking over his own shoulder-- nice work.

Nice. But remember, if you're feeling lucky; one good shot to the brain can finish that fight easy. Scythers love that shot.

These comments by Adam came at least a week or so before the announcements even though this video is out the day after the announcement.

100% on cold bog, honestly desert for the aesthetic has become near my fav choice of maps if im ok with the temp extreme, I just like the vibe of being a desert town/guerilla base. cold bog is just awful, not a fan of jungle either, temperate forest is a bit too "simple" but sometimes thats what I want, once in a blue moon I want a cold biome and most of those are fine when I rarely try them, arid shrublands probably my fav still (I think I mentioned that in a different video too)

Oh I've been into Warhammer Fantasy since the late 90s and I've seen a lot of overlap between Rimworld and Warhammer fans so we enjoy your crossover. As for rooms with straw floors, they might look nice but they are deathtraps. I had an unfortunate zztt that nearly cooked one of my babies because the floor instantly became an inferno and rapidly superheated the surrounding rooms. This taught me to keep my straw floor rooms separate if I decide to use them.

Honestly love the 8/5 speech, mostly I learned it from your stuff (a bit from francisjohn since I watched his rimworld stuff first) altho I knew catagorized mode and am always mildly annoyed at all the busywork I have to do at the start of my many MANY runs that usually only last a few days of play before I swap off as I click on 17 things to "set the game up" on top of loading really slow because I play with way too many mods (but its fun for me) but yeah, ok I started my colony, picked the colonies, made a new ideology, made sure the factions all spawned because with modded ones sometimes they dont spawn properly, found a good spot to start, picked the right size, loaded into the game and now I can play... wait, nope. Time to set the default medical, change the drug policies, change the rewards to no goodwill, toggle back categorized mode, hide the learner tips, turn off automatic homezone, turn on x y z, setup the clothes orders... and NOW I can play rimworld really wish there was a way to copy paste the settings across saves but ah well, its the price I pay because im so picky (technically I could delay the drug policies, or the clothes ones, but I often forget until I find someone randomly has a lance I was looking for in their pocket) and play with such heavily modded stuff. Plus setting up tables is a bit rough too because of that. "Oh time to scrap gear, wait, let me go through 200+ items and pick out the ones I want to keep for various reasons" vanilla does have its advantages haha

@4:30, Dude, that's one gripe I have with some of the RW community. Like, just imagine the superiority complex it takes to gatekeep a video game, but especially one that emphasizes player creativity and freedom to effectively do whatever they please. For the most part, there's an indefinite number of ways to build your colonies and interact with the world, and even on the hardest difficulties the game can throw at you, all of it is viable with good RNG and player knowledge. Not every game needs to be min/maxed and powergamed. It's ridiculous how competitive people can get with a single player game designed around the idea that no 2 runs will ever be the exact same.
