I FMQed my first full quilt. I’m so pleased with it. I noticed it takes a lot more thread and there are hard to reach areas because I’m using a regular size machine. But I am very pleased with it. I also made the whole quilt using Batiks. All I have to do is the binding today and it will be finished. Thank you for all the videos and tutorials! You also inspired me because you’re a man. I don’t feel alone. corey

I managed to actually get a modern regular machine needle to work perfectly fine on my W9. You just need to put the needle in *just* past the screw and might have to fiddle a bit with it, but it can work!

you didn't thread correct the sewing machine .... On the tensioner the thread supposed to be down to the front and once around the tension pulley .

Love your videos! Do you know where I can get a thing to convert my singer 66 red eye to a side mount screw. Right now it is a back screw. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry it is necessary to place the presser foot to make Quilting .... Do you lower your machine teeth?
@TimLatimerquilts7 жыл бұрын
yes a presser foot is needed. the feed teeth on this machine do not lower. if you have a more modern machine it will probably have a way to lower the feed and that will make it easier.

Glad all is well. I’m FMQing my 2nd quilt. It’s hard on the small machine but I really like the way it’s coming out. I’m sure with practice it will get easier. I find that glider thing is too small for a whole quilt, oh well, I’m getting there.

Hi Tim: Thanks for the vid. My prize is a Wheeler/Wilson #12 industrial with table that extends to the left and back and has a knee lifter, as well as reverse and 1 drawer. needlebar.org/nbwiki/images/2/2a/Ww12a.jpg It is almost ready for a trial. The bobbin is about twice as large as the bagel bobbin for the W9. It originally was in the upstairs of a mansion in the Summit Hill area of St Paul, MN. In those days the upstairs maid was responsible for the sewing, mending and child care. A young Swedish immigrant of age 19 was the upstairs maid and it was her gt grand daughter who sold it to me. We are not sure of how the machine ended up with the maid.

Those bobbins may be worth more than the machine!
@sandrafrias58217 жыл бұрын
my machine is super dumton sewing machine and I lower my teeth and move it but do not sew or pick up the bobbin thread
