They are lovely machines, I am sure you figured out since this vid that the handwheel turns away from you. Hope you got rid of the clunky noise in it, mine has not be used for decades and amazingly enough it is sooo free wheeling and incredibly silent. Very surprising. Thanks I hope you love it

Yes, I figured it out... and I forget... every time 😆 There is another video for this machine where you'll see me thinking, which way is it again? Lol, I guess I'm just a Singer girl at heart.

They welded the presser foot to the bar?! That’s an odd one! Trick for those stuck thumbscrews. Use a wee scrap of leather wrapped around the screws serrated edge and use lockjaw pliers on that. Protects the screw and the lockjaw pliers keep their grip on it.

Thank you for this video. I recently acquired my 1st antique sewing machine - a W&WD9 in it’s original table stand. I also acquired a separate cast iron pedal with the W&W monogram in it (the monogram is in a 7.25”/18.41500cm diameter circle). This pedal overall is smaller than my D9 pedal. Do you know which W&W this monogrammed pedal came from?

Without seeing the item, it's difficult to say. Although, if Wheeler & Wilson were anything like Singer, the pedal would be specific to a particular style of table, rather than a specific machine. There are some W&W badges at the bottom of this page: www.fiddlebase.com/american-machines/wheeler-wilson/ that might help. Or you could check FaceBook to see if there is a group for Wheeler & Wilson collectors. Thanks for watching. 🙂

I have a W&W monogrammed treadle pedal. Would you happen to know which model(s) no. it originally came from?

No, sorry. Check FaceBook to see if there is a group for Wheeler & Wilson machines. They might be able to pinpoint the model for you. Thanks for watching. 🙂

Girl I just got a Wheeler and Wilson #8. I believe is missing a bobbing winder , front place and I think screw on the second place. How you been able to find the missing parts in yours?
@SimplyStitchy Жыл бұрын
I haven't looked at getting parts for it yet. I got replacement needles from Jacksneedles.com. They are subsitutes as the originals are hard to come by. As for screws and bobbin winders, your best bet is eBay and maybe Mercari. Sometimes Etsy has spares for sewing machines. Or try Sewingpartsonline.com. I'm not sure if they do Wheeler and Wilson but it's worth a look.
