This is going to be a real game changer for me. I am blind, and while I have use of both arms, I explore and check my work by feeling it (something that’s very hard to do when using both hands to knit). I usually end up having to hold things with my knees or elbows or get in a really awkward position when trying to do more complex stitches. Thank you so much for sharing this!

This is amazing. I have a mobility disability and I had no idea this exists. I absolutely LOVE it. I have a cheap kit I got in Amazon that's just a round one. We'll see how I like it. But I'm going to watch the videos and give it a try. THANK YOU for this though.

This looks like it'll be a game-changer for me!!! I use a wheelchair and knit one-handed. Using a tabletop usually works alright, but I have never been able to knit a scarf, blanket, or anything else that's long because it becomes heavy and unmanageable for me.

Kristen, I just came across this video this morning, and WOW! This is so great!! I manage a Looming Group here in rural western OK, called TLC, and we are comprised of a group of 10 to 20 women, most of whom are aged between 65 and 84 years. This loom set is AWESOME, and maybe an answer to prayer for a number of our group. I'm def going to share this video with them, and I'm considering getting this set up for myself. Our members have been so great during this past year, even though we can't meet weekly as we used to; these dedicated few ladies have created over 500 baby hats donated to 4 area hospitals, over 300 donated homeless hats, and well over 300 cancer caps donated to 4 cancer centers here in western OK just in 2020 alone! I share your videos often with the group, and may I just say, here and now...THANK YOU!! For your dedication to a knitting technique that most people think is just for kids, and is not considered "real" knitting. Looming has def brought a renewed sense of purpose to these women in this tiny little town, and your videos help continue that sense of wonder and thrill to be able to create such lovely and practical items. Respectfully and sincerely, Sherry Corrigan, Thomas Loomers and Crocheters (TLC for short) 😇

This is exactly what I need light and all.Being able to turn it around, not upside down though, just swivel around. I have kb and kiss looms and keep dreaming over the cindwood x loom, and would love the bigger size, different gauges, able to do any project, but it definitely needs a stand and a light. I can't manage my bigger kiss loom when its put together. And I was already thinking of trying to make a tall table stand for it with a light even if I can't clamp it down.

I must say the one I designed and my brother updated on my initial design I like better. Its a little more sturdy. Some may say its clunky but I love it.

Dear Kristin, I have a request... can you do a tutorial on how to loom knit a granny square?
@cherylsolheim82913 жыл бұрын
Hi, can you use the stand for other looms. I have the African loom I would like to use on there. Can we do that?
@amydavis49454 жыл бұрын
I prefer to use the KB rotating loom. You can get attachments for it that will allow you to attach ANY loom to it, and it just rotates like a lazy susan. You don't have to work upside down, you just turn your loom as you go.
@GoodKnitKisses4 жыл бұрын
Yes this is true. I did talk about that loom in the end and failed to mention the adapters to add that feature. It’s not my favorite option for someone with the use of one hand though since the lazy Susan rotates too freely when I’ve tested working with it that way. Have you found it that way?
@amydavis49454 жыл бұрын
@@GoodKnitKisses I have absolutely no problem using it one handed. I just put my other hand on it to hold it in place until I'm ready to turn it. Or if you literally only have one hand, I use it in my lap and stop it turning with my thigh. It literally cuts my loom time in half and I've come to never using a loom without it. Even when my arthritis isn't acting up because it's so much quicker.

@@amydavis4945 that’s great! I didn’t think of using legs at all. I was thinking a lot of one of my viewers who is a quadriplegic. She has gained the use of one arm but wouldn’t be able to use a leg. Her current loom is strapped to a table her finance cut to fit on her chair so it didn’t rock and fall off. I think it is great there are more solutions now. I know my body type wouldn’t be able to do what you do in a chair and hold it still. I’d knock off with my tummy. Lol. I do love using that rotating loom though. But I find I tend to hug it or hold the leg with the other hand. I had suggested to KB, when it was new, to put a locking friction stop on it to make it stable to work stitches and rotate but it would stop when you stop rotating. Thanks again for your feedback! I love hearing how people use the looms. It is helpful when planning how to teach and new videos. I do need to show that one with the straps for other looms. Which are your favorite to use on it? Is there one you haven’t been able to attach?
@amydavis49454 жыл бұрын
@@GoodKnitKisses I think we all just make do with what our bodies allow. I'm not saying the rotating loom is everyone's solution - it's just the best one for me. I'm mostly bound to my bed, and hehe... I have a round tummy too! I just put the loom between my legs, in bed, and loom like there's no tomorrow! The only trouble I've had is using REALLY small looms, like for baby hats... the attachments that allows you to use "any" loom really don't extend enough to secure the really small looms. I've also never tried the big "S" shaped looms on it - yet. As for stopping the turning motion... maybe yours turns more easily than mine. I was just using it and I managed to knit on it with only one hand and it didn't turn until I put pressure on it to turn. However, another solution to stop it turning would be to place a large clamp on the bottom that clamped the bottom to the turntable part, then remove the clamp when you're ready for it to turn again, then replace it, etc. I mean, honestly, if you really want to do something, you can find a way! Where there's a will...

Perhaps you said or showed and I simply missed, but will this stand work with someone sitting in a recliner. Due to health issues I have to keep my feet elevated. Thus the recliner.
@GoodKnitKisses3 ай бұрын
If your recliner allows the base to slide under it from the side then it should be no problem. My theater recliner chair unfortunately goes straight like a box all the way to floor and I can’t lift it under.

Can they make the S loom to make the blankets?
@GoodKnitKisses4 жыл бұрын
The S loom would be too heavy to support. But I think there are too many twists and turns on it to get any real use out of it. When I use my S looms I find I have to turn them all around for ease of use so I don’t think that’s a good idea. Perhaps a loom with the same gauge and then sew the panels together would be easier.

I’m not sure. Perhaps attaching a scroll frame and then attaching the loom to that with bands maybe?
