thanks for your replies. So you're still happy with it? Does it still works the same as when you first installed it? How did you pay for it btw - over paypal? That's what they suggested to me but would only send a link once they confirmed it definitely will work with my car which is reassuring ;-). Oh and does it boot into carplay when you switch the car on or do you have to activate it somehow before being able to say 'hey siri'. Sorry for all the questions :-(

I have a 2013 ML350 Bluetec. I want to buy this but I have a couple of questions. 1- Does it work for both Android and Apple play? 2- Where do you buy it since the Amazon link doesn’t work? 3- Can you project/mirror what is playing on your phone to the suv screen? 4- I use Waze, but I only see Google Maps in your video. Can you download more apps and install them? 5- What about the rear view camera? Does it still automatically use the original MB Command when you put it in reverse? Thanks in advance!

Extremely helpful video. Regarding the fiber optic cable placement. You took out the time to specify what to do and showed the process although the instructions have it. It’s nothing like seeing it done. I didn’t have sound after the install and that was the issue👍🏽 thanks! so much

Does you Media Interface on the factory COMMAND still work after the UniChip install? I enabled Aux like both UniChip and you show in your video. Carplay works and everything on the factory COMMAND works, except the Media Interface is no longer a selectable audio source.

Thanks for the reply so expeditiously. Unfortunately I did not buy it from them. And I cannot get the company that I did purchase it from Road top to respond. I took everything off and reassembled everything properly I think but now command shut off every 15 seconds so now I am completely screwed!

Nicole Myd if you install it correctly (sometimes you need to ask the UniChip guys via WhatsApp if u have any issues) it will work fine - initially I had trouble but contacted them and made an adjustment and it worked fine after

Does the AUX hookup behind the factory head unit or do you run a cable to the external aux connector that is hidden in the arm rest between the front seats.

This is an amazing write up!! I hope someone can help me. I installed the same system, same name brand for my 2013 Mercedes Benz ML350. Road Top name brand but the kit I purchased was for my ML Model. So everything works well, no complaints. HOWEVER, I have run into a very strange problem that I am unable to resolve so hoping someone can help. Prior to installing the kit, under my AUDIO selection options, I was able to select AM Radio, FM Radio, Disc, SAT(Sirius Radio). We always kept our AUDIO selection to SAT as we used Sirius XM radio 100% of the time. The reason for buying this kit was to get the advantages of Apple Car Play and use the latest updated google maps for Navigation as the vehicles Navigation was outdated. So with saying that, after installing our kit, we wanted to make sure that if we just wanted to use SAT(Satellite Sirius Radio). We went to AUDIO on the radio to choose SAT but it was gone. I know you have to have the AUX selected to make this new kit work so I'm good there. I'm referring to not being able to use the stock radio to select Sirius XM (SAT). This is awful as let's say we don't want to use Apple CarPlay for whatever reason, we should be able to use the stock radio for SAT(Sirius Radio) 3 Questions: Any suggestions on how to get the SAT option back to our AUDIO selection menu? Anyone know where the Sirius XM Satellite Tuner/Module is located so I can unplug it, reset and hope the SAT option re-appears to the audio selection? Did the original person who wrote this thread lose his SAT option through Audio? Thank you!! Anthony

I know it has been a while, which is perfect for my question. I am wondering if you had any issues with heat buildup and the Command unit? Currently, when it is really hot out or really cold, and my ML sits in either condition before startup, the Command unit is supper slow at changing to different modes (e.g. switch from Radio to Navigation). My concern is that putting a unit like this one, or some other, in the console would cause extra heat and more problems.

You can use the command control knob on the center console to change songs - right = forward, left = back. Hope that helps, thanks for watching! I was not able to use the steering wheel controls to skip or go back.

I used your video to help install this. It was very helpful but now whatever It is I did wont allow sound. No matter what setting. I went into Engineer Mode and UNDID what you said to do and still nothing. I’m dserpate and dont know what to do.

I have the Joyeauto and followed your instructions to enable AUX and no have lost all sound for my system! I haven’t been able to get the carplay audio to work and now none of the audio works!!! I haven’t been able to find any information on what I may have done wrong in the engineering menus. Any pointers are greatly appreciated!

Hello - right below the [CLEAR] button I have a Massage Seats button (this button does not work while CarPlay is on the screen). Only works when I am switching back to COMMAND. The same happens with the Favourite (star) button (only works on COMMAND). Is there a solution to have these buttons functioning while in CarPlay?

honest review I don’t know if you can update that to get CarPlay, but this was the only option on the 2015.

Hi there! I have a 2012 SLK. I went into engineering mode and tried this on my factory navigation unit in hopes to clear up grayed out areas. I now have no sound. I had sound, but after following the steps, I do not. Seems to be the opposite of your situation. Any idea how I can get this back? I’ve tried everything I can think of.
