Add cloth folds in Substance Painter

In this tutorial I show you how you can quickly create your custom fold and wrinkles textures in Zbrush and/or Blender to add them in your Substance Painter model. This will help you add extra details to your models without the need to revisit the highpoly sculpt.

why not just paint the height directly in sp? why import a height map? sp lets you paint height directly. save a step

Yeah that is totally doable, but in general you have more control over the height map if you generate it first, at least in my experience. Generating realistic folds painting them vs using a cloth simulation in blender and rendering it as a height map is very different. You can also build your own library of height maps and use them whenever you need for different projects. I would not do it for simple details, but for more complex stuff absolutely.
