GM only installed provisions for a single switch even on their highest trims of their 2023+ Colorados and Canyons. Even if you want to add a few more it'll run about $500 for that luxury.
Enter the enginuity of the aftermarket.... We came up a nifty defrost vent mount that will allow you to adapt nearly any switch panel to. The install looks nearly OEM and with our latest version has the ability to hide all the wires inside the dash.
The switch panel I chose was pretty inexpensive at about $100. It has the functionality to change colors, flash and toggle the lights depending on mode. Something GM's upfitter switches cannot do. I'll have a link below to the one I purchased as well as a few others I recommend.
I needed a place to mount the relay box but it needed to be out of the way of the other fuse and distribution boxes in the engine bay. I came up with a bracket to mount the various styles of relay boxes to accommodate your budget.
Using factory mounting points, this bracket bolts on with the supplied hardware in a mater of minutes. Absolutely no drilling!
Below you'll find links to the parts we make to help you guys get the most out of your trucks.

I like your approach to wiring and installing things to look as OEM as possible. I already followed your video for the G900 Wolfbox and plan to do this one next. I would love to see you tackle an ARB Compressor (CKMA12) mounted under the hood and relayed into the AUXBEAM switch panel. I have seen several people trying to find out how to mount the ARB in the Gen 3 GMC/Chevy and I bet you would come up with a clever/custom mounting solution.

There's not a whole lot of room under the hood. I'll think about where it might be able to live.

@@BadlandIndustries You got that right, I have been scratching my head for days on how to adapt some mount already on the market and haven't found any tutorials for Gen 3.

I bought a 2024 Colorado Trail Blazer. It’s been my pleasure to watch and learn from several of your videos. Please do a 12 volt bed install. I wanted to do your bed light install. But GM charges too much for 2 simple lights, hardware and wiring harnesses.

Damn, coming along nicely. Do you make brackets for Chevy too? I want to put raptor lights in my z71 without swapping out the grill or having to put them below the emblem

There was a guy in one of the fb groups that made some brackets for raptor lights. This relay bracket along with the other parts will fit both trucks.

Can you do a video on how to manually disconnect the Canyon’s front swaybar for off roading? No video like this exists on KZbin! Thanks! AP
@BadlandIndustries
@BadlandIndustries 20 күн бұрын
That's due to how it's designed. It will contact the lca and other things. I am considering options to make something work.

@@BadlandIndustries Would it be possible to just unbolt the bottom bolt of the end-links and then zip tie the sway bar out of the way each time you go off road? Kind of a hassle, but would that work? Or what about something similar to the product you had designed for the previous gen colorados, where it was just on one side?

Did you run the controller box power wire straight to the aux switch wire in the kick panel?
@BadlandIndustries
@BadlandIndustries Ай бұрын
Yes that's what I stated. Now the aux button is merely turning on the switch panel.

@@BadlandIndustries I’m sorry. I’m re reading my comment. I forgot to ask Did you need to use a relay? Or did you run the wire straight to the switch and use an inline fuse?
@BadlandIndustries
@BadlandIndustries Ай бұрын
@@dmilillo I don't believe the wire is rated for the load of the light. The way the upfitter relays are wired, the button only operates the relay coil. That said, you should follow the diagram I put on the whiteboard and you shouldn't have any issue.

Maybe I missed it, but I don't understand why you would use the OEM Aux switch to turn on the aftermarket set of switches. Why does that need to be switched? Seems like you're cheating yourself out of a switch that could be used elsewhere.
@BadlandIndustries
@BadlandIndustries Ай бұрын
You could essentially run the trigger wire off a switched source. Since that aux button is live at all times it's nice to be able to run the lights while the truck is off. I was on a recovery just last night where I didn't need the truck running but needed light. If the trigger was off ignition I would have lost light every 15 min when it timed out.
