As always, Daria, you do more in 7 minutes than most people do in 20. I'm never bored by your vids, and the "ticktickticktickDING" makes me laugh every time. Thanks for showing the wide range of smartness that can be achieved with a limited number of pieces.

For me, scarves and earrings are essential to make a wardrobe more interesting. I also have lots of color. You have been very helpful in showing how to hone down color palettes to create a capsule.

Yes I have a basic wardrobe but add always a colorful piece ( a third piece) a vest, a sweeter kimono or a scarf or nice piece of jewelry that completes the out fit to make interesting. Thank you to kind people like you Daria that educate us how to put it together. Thank you for your hard work☺️

Daria, it has taken me 3 years to feel comfortable with my wardrobe and find/disciver/listen to my internal voice... I know I'm weing the right things because when somelonel cringesl/criticisles me/my style it in no way alters my opinion or how I feel in my clothes. It started with a few you tubers-one was you! And I listened to you healthy ideas about body and your ideas on variety of shape, texture, color... And thought long and hard about what those meant to me. I spent almost one year collecting photos that appealed to me (I wish I could wear that!) and shopping (to try on all the shapes, colors, textures) but only bought if I loved it! I did most of this research at goodwill, a cheaply priced second-hand shop in the US. It took me a long time to understand that I love pattern but not high contrast next to my face. That I love color and shape and even volume, but I'd never like them without loving my body, not shaming it. That I love loud, extravagant, odd, but I could never wear them until I could be myself unapologetically... 3 years feels like ages looking back, but I worked hard to move slow, grow deliberately, let go along the way, and for it for myself. Thanks to you, I've had support along this journey, and have taken pause to think about what I want, what I need, how I can have excellent things for fair prices and support chg I want to see/become the change, and I've just wished all my clothes, pulled pictures for my first fall curated wardrobe. All the items will come from my own closet! And the rest will go into a suitcase until next season. Thank you. And good luck and meaningful journeys to those who are searching for this home.

This is great, Daria! This is very useful. I think most of us own a lot of basics, which is a great start, but we just need a few of those slightly different items to personalise the wardrobe. You illustrated it so well.

Wow that's amazing. So many outfits. And, with different jewelry and scarves would make many more outfits. No, I do not and did have a basic wardrobe. I have a whole collection of everything and a big headache putting outfits together. Where I live in Canada the weather is the number 1 consideration and can change many times during the same day. I'm really impressed as to how you put the outfits together and so effortlessly. Great tips.

Such a great video as the capsule-basic-minimalist wardrobe theme is so hyped nowadays. Sometimes, when I was tired of my chaotic wardrobe, I tried to do this basic wardrobe thing, but I could not cheat myself, I am a fan of colors and interesting details, so I always ended up returning to my more colorful pieces. Building a strong basis with good quality basics is very important, but we are all different, so I think only a few people feel good when they dress from a monochromatic wardrobe.
@wonderwardrobe5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don’t know if building a strong basis with basics is really necessary... Maybe only if you really into wearing simple clothes and that’s your style. But if you like clothes with more character, you don’t have to have a basic wardrobe. For example, I usually have maybe 2-3 basic items per season in my wardrobe, the rest 20 I’d call statements.

You are wonderful, wonderwardrobe is the absolutely right name for your creation. I will make the course as soon I have more time to think about myself.Could you please examine the possibility of making a video with outfits in warm colors? It could be for later in the year, for fall or winter, since personally it seems more difficult to use colors in these seasons, beside brown in all variations. Ihave the impression that cool colors are easier to mix, but perhaps I am wrong ...thank you very much!😍😍😍😍
@gittevandevelde22085 жыл бұрын
I second this! Maybe some warmer, but still spring-appropiate shades. Thinking about coral, peach, golden yellows, orange etc.
@i.e.presents6385 жыл бұрын
I would contend it probably isn’t harder, it’s just foreign since virtually ever capsule we see outside this channel is in greyscale. What feels challenging for me is finding ways to look sophisticated in these colors. While I recognize that much of this fear is from Meana Garcia & Michael Nors (misspellings intended) shaming designers who used anything warm, non-black, and not of-the-moment I still maintain that visions of Harvest Gold 1970’s kitchens and Burnt Orange shag carpets are the immediate thought when we Springs & Autumns attempt to wear our most harmonious colors.
@evelynsaungikar35535 жыл бұрын
Easy...keep the greys and black, substitute plum for the more saturated blues, and lavender for the pale blue. Or beige, or tan. Tan with grey or black is the height of elegance. Plum or lavender with black, picture it. She’s wearing plum in this video, and the rack behind her is full of browns and red. In fact, you could build an entire wardrobe treating red as your anchor colour.

Hi Daria could you do a wonder wardrobe for expecting mothers? Since we go through so many physical changes during pregnancy yet we still would love to look fashionable yet have sustainable fashion choices throughout the year. That would be awesome!
@Cetoniinae5 жыл бұрын
My wardrobe is definitely centered around basics. That being said, I personally consider both green and blue basic colors. But I make it even more personal with hints of rust and rich berry/purple/red. Yellows and pastels do not work for me, and I keep brown to a minimum (other than accessories in leather - then brown in my favourite). And I sometimes add some pretty prints to make it more interesting. I also have a collection of band t-shirts that I mix with my basics when I'm in the mood for it. I've also found that some unique jewelry (like my beetle brooch, a pair of vintage earrings, or my eclogite pendant) is an easy way to brighten up an otherwise plain outfit.

Hi Daria, I've just found you and already subscribe because I liked your videos it so much at a first glance that I can't wait to see more. Don't know if you have already done it, but I would like very much to see how you should do to adapt your wardrobe, makeup, etc when you change your hair color. I usually change mine every two years or so. Now I'm red hair, but I was blonde before and brown before that. Thanks in advance to taking into consideration to do such a video. XOXO

Interesting that you mentioned Baukjen. I have bought several items from them, including a beautiful blazer that was a bargain in the sales. I can vouch for the quality, I have only ever had one disapointment and that was a turtleneck top that pilled quickly, but everything else has been lovely and I wear them a lot. Their pieces fit me perfectly, and their jersey fabrics are really nice. They do great basics with a little bit of something, French style, understated elegance without spending a fortune. A basic wardrobe?I don't like the basic colours for everything. I love an orange blazer or red top to brighten my face, otherwise at 55 I just look tired and boring.
@ritatocta75835 жыл бұрын
Pilling is usually a sign of quality of the fabric ironically, like having wool. Just carefully shave it with a razor!
@chowes415 жыл бұрын
@@ritatocta7583 Really? Yes, I was rhinking of buying on of those little gadgets to do the job. It is so annoying.
@ritatocta75835 жыл бұрын
@@chowes41 yes I believe synthetic knits don't pill. I just use a regular razor the cheaper are even the better and shave my knits (unless they have those intricated patterns or a very loose knit, in those cases I use a scissor and cut them out). Seems very exausting but I find it rewarding 😀 there is a stylist (Rebecca Jacobs I think it's her name) here on KZbin and she defends that taking care of your clothes can be self care (like taking a couple of hours a week to see if there is pilling or a button is missing etc) and I actually have found that I agree! Ps- with the shaving method I still use my mother's 100% wool Bennetton green sweater from the 70s and have people asking me where I bought it thinking it is new. I also handwash but I know it's not for everybody (I find it therapeutic also haha)
