After watching you harvest your various crops in wide flat lands...........was really surprised to see Mountains in the distance....Rocky Montains??? thanks

Guadeloupe mountains. Yea we farm all over we got the flatlands and the views

Nice photography especially at sunset! Are you farming both sides of the highway? I thought I saw Round Hill (Mountain?) and the airport beacon in some of the scenes. You know, when you get really nerdy, you can put the screen protectors back on...(ask me how I know)🔄
@conleybanmanАй бұрын
Haha put a better screen protector on it. And yup we farm on both sides kind of all over

Love your video ❤

Wait till the screen gets dirty and smudged up, then peel it off, then you have to clean it from now on

I couldn’t resist I had too lol. It surprisingly doesn’t get dirty there’s not that much dust around a stripper mainly cotton and leaves

Conley, thanks for your excellent KZbin video, always enjoy watching them and recommend them to others. Are there any 12 row folding head pickers around your area-? Would you ever thinking of changing your planting configuration and upgrading to the 12 row machines-? I have no affiliation with JD nor do I grow cotton, - just interested.
@conleybanmanАй бұрын
Oh yea a lot of people have them. But we have to have one custom built because JD don’t make 36” inch row spaced folding head. And it would be nice but we harvest cotton from 16 row equipment and 24 row equipment so having an 8 row that matches both works a little better in our favor. Maybe one day

Did you get 4 bales to the acre or 2.5 on irrigated ground
@conleybanmanАй бұрын
We get around 4 bales for irrigated but there are some fields that didn’t yield that. Some only did around 3-3.5
@thefceUSMCАй бұрын
Why do you use a picker instead of a stripper?
@conleybanmanАй бұрын
We use both machines depends on the cotton
@thefceUSMCАй бұрын
@@conleybanman but what are the advantages of one over the other?
@conleybanmanАй бұрын
A pickers bales are cleaner and will usually pay more for picker cotton than stripper cotton and you can run faster in higher yielding cotton however a picker will tend to leave a lot more cotton on the field if the plants are short and/or shorter fibers. But when it comes to low yielding cotton a stripper is more efficient due to a wider header. Plus a picker tops out at 4.5 and a stripper tops out at 9 in the field
@jimkavalier2831Ай бұрын
Maybe you have answered this, but do you guys try to dump the bale so they are roughly grouped together? Or does the JD just kick them loose ?
@conleybanmanАй бұрын
Yea we try to drop them off somewhat close together it makes it easier for stacking
