Just had a thought. Will you be changing the channel name to Green Acres Homestead?
@sam-and-angela2 жыл бұрын
We've considered it greatly over the last 6 months since getting the new land. We're sticking to green acre homestead. It's too ingrained in the internet for search results and us. Plus our business is the same name and the websites for 'green acres' are all taken... We've thought about it a lot, wish we could do green acres but it's not in the cards for us. A positive way to look at it (that we've thought of for such questions) is that leaving it 'acre' will allow us to remember where we came from and pay homage to our roots in homesteading -- that it all started on one little acre. :)

I wouldn’t be so quick to off load the slide. It would make a neat exit from a treehouse. Whatever you decide to make for the boys they are sure lucky to have such creative parents. I get a kick watching them “working” with you. You’re both very patient with them
@lindajc1232 жыл бұрын
I didn't think about re-using the slide (good idea by the way), but I did think about all the lumber that they were going to give away that they didn't use. You NEVER know when some project will come into your head that Sam would have used that given away lumber for - especially in this skyrocketing prices arena we are living in now.

From the comfort of my chair and watching fast motion video - it all looks pretty easy. With the cost of materials today, it sure makes sense to disassemble and take as much as possible with you. I cringe when I see some of the utube, wood scrap piles being burned or carted off to the landfill to keep things looking tidy rather than stacked on pallets and tarped for future consideration; even summer bon fires would be better than slag pile fires.

It does feel that way a little bit, but it's also nice to see things getting knocked off our to do list for moving. :) We're not sad to leave this property at all, we love our new place in Tennessee for so many reasons. The actual home move will be very stressful for us -- praying nothing bad happens to it and it leaves here and arrives there in perfect order.

Having said that mouth full I enjoyed watching you take and sort everything. My Ron always took nails and crews out to make sure boards had nothing more remaining in them. If anyone was to get hurt he wanted it to be him and not the boys. Yes he was hurt bad several times but the boys were safe. Your video brought back several fond memories from 53.5 years marriage.
