Back 40 yrs or so I hired a home move to move my 14x70 about 20 miles. I did all the prep, he hitched to it and pulled away. He pulled up to the new driveway and said nope, can't make that corner. He dropped the trailer right there and left. $90 was the charge. I called my septic contractor and he brought his JD450 and spotted the trailer for us. Probably paid him $20, I don't remember. I bet you didn't get off that cheap. Fascinating to watch but I bet it cost you.

Highly motivated and very skilled. They made it look easy! I live in Australia and I've never seen these mobile homes. I've seen houses moved on trucks, usually in the early hours of the morning because they are wide and take up both sides of the road.

Lois you do not have mobile homes in Australia?? The ones that’s really fascinating are the double wides two go down the highway and at the final destination they kind of zipper them together and you have one really large house!!

@@deborahlehman8617 No we don't. I've only ever seen them on KZbin etc. I had no idea what they were but I've learned watching Sam and Angela mainly. I think I've seen a double wide maybe on DIYfferent. Houses, timber ones, get moved quite often here. If they are very large, they are cut in half and moved on two trucks and then put back together at the new site. Usually they are moved late at night or very early morning to avoid traffic etc.

I am so glad they hooked the second machine up to the primary tractor. The whole shebang could easily have slid down the hill on that green grass. I have seen it happen too many times. Very slick operation. Those guys knew what they were doing.

You live in what you call a trailer home. I, in the UK, live in what we call a static mobile home. Different shape but virtually the same thing, believe you me, its heart in mouth time when you see it arriving on its trailers. Same principle and a great answer to housing shortages. Yours came in one long bit, mine came in two halves then bolted together.

Oh, my goodness, the crew sure did a fantastic job! My husband was getting ready for bed & I told him he just had to watch. What an incredible thing to watch! For a while I thought they were going to loose the house going straight down the incline but thankfully they didn't. I especially enjoyed the videos coming from inside the boy's bedroom. Back 30 yrs ago I bought a 1975 mobile home for a rental here in Georgia. Was going to move it to another county nearby but I couldn't get a permit because it was an older trailer. It may be different now I don't know. It does vary from state to state I guess. Congratulations on the move. I know you guys are anxious to get it set up and ready to be moved in.

Praise the Lord for his goodness to us all. This was amazing. I thought it was something years ago when they used 2 trucks to pull our house up the hill to place it. But this was truly a sight to see. I always wondered how they got some of the houses I saw where they put them. Now I know. Definitely educated about that now. Thank you for sharing. That was freaking amazing . To see the house come down the hill like that and to fly the roads liked it was winged. I traveled on those roads in a semi and we passed several of mobile homes being relocated . I am so glad things went well . Just think it was flat with nothing . Look how far the homestead has come . My wife and I have been following your adventure for a long time. Many years ago after I got out of the Marine Corps at Cherry Point NC I had our mobile home moved to the Pittsburgh Pa. area and it was paid for by the government. If I remember right it cost $455 back in the early 1970's. LOL Keep up the good work and the positive attitude, it will serve you well.

That was absolutely amazing! Pure professionalism on the movers part. I've seen the Rc cats used for shed moving, but not on this scale. I hope your drywall faired well. We had cracks above most of our doorways, and the house was only moved about 20 miles on flat roads. Looking forward to your inspection video.

This was positively E P I C❗😲 💙 The moving company was SO professional and it looks like they did an excellent job! Such amazing equipment to make the move safer! Top-notch filming, on the ground and in the air! Thanks for the care you took to enable us to live vicariously to experience the historic move! 🥰 My random thoughts as I watched: .. I didn't realize you had neighbors so nearby in NC. I had gotten the impression you were pretty isolated. .. When you hooked up the camera in the boys' room, and I saw the stuff on the floor, I thought, "Oh, no". Then we see and hear that stuff slide across the floor. Sure hope the floors and walls weren't scratched too bad. I thought you had to remove anything that could potentially move inside the house? .. OMG, down the steepest part of the hill, YIKES! ... When they were unloading and the house tipped, OMG, my heart skipped a beat, for sure! I hope nothing got twisted up! 🤞 .. When you got to TN, "excitement over" so Elijah is back to being a kid, mining in the dirt pile. 🥰 .. The new site wasn't as flat as I thought, based on the view of the home on blocks. .. Will it stay on blocks? Seems like I recall you were hoping for something different, but then I heard you say it was "set, anchored, leveled", so I'm unsure. 🤔 .. You mentioned the moving guys working so well as a team that they needed virtually no communication. What you didn't see was their texts to each other, "oh crap, did you see that", "dang, that wasn't supposed to happen", "sh#%, now what are we going to do", etc. 😉 🤣 .. Loved seeing Angela so excited! You 3 boys...WTH⁉️ This isn't something you see every day. It's OK to get a little giddy with excitement! 🙌 🤣 ... Now we start the "installation" process: * Water * electricity * sewer .. THEN you can start the back-and-forth of moving everything from storage. .. THEN you can unpack! 😉 BUT...it's all a labor of love as you settle in to your forever homestead. Congratulations, Sam, Angela, and the feral children! ❤️
