Alcoholism took my right arm from me in 2002 in a motorcycle vs semi truck at 150mph crash. In 2007 I was drunk and picked a fight with the wrong guy and he shot me from 5ft away. I have 6 DUIs on motorcycles since 2001 and have served prison time in California. Today I've been sober over 51 months and my life has never been better

I just broke a streak of 9 months of sobriety…. I feel like shit. I know in my heart I CAN do it… but I don’t want to. I’m no where near a place of wanting to end it all. I’m just… sad. Personal things that I won’t get into made me go back to my old ways. I’m truly afraid that I won’t ever be a sober man.

@@kurtari_music make the hard and scary (but righteous) decision to get some professional help. Especially with alcohol you need to go through a medical detox cause it can be dangerous. S2Lrecovery.org is the place the host went through and both work at if you want to check it out.

@@kurtari_musicgo to rehab or aa meetings it may be hard at first but i promise it helps it helped me also caffeine kinda helps you can drink up to five hundred mg of caffeine before showing negative side effects depending on your age and also another thing that really helps is find a hobby something to get your mind off it like for me it’s learning and playing guitar every time I have alcohol cravings I pray and then play guitar but you will not get better unless you fully want to and go to aa meetings or rehab I recommend you do both go to rehab get help and then once you get out of rehab find aa meetings near you i battled with beer for about five years now I’m five months sober

Thanks for reacting to Dear Alcohol by DAX. I would argue your comments on the "no one relates" when you said "lie", it is not a lie for me as I was swallowing my pride to ask help to my family and relatives but ending up by being judged (same as Job's friend), so I have to face it all alone although I am not ending this with alcohol. So what you are saying is not always working out for each human, or maybe I have just simply not met the person who can relate. So for me, it is true that no one relates.

2 months sober. I really have no desire to drink. I met someone who I feel showed me genuine love. But biggest was wrestling. Wrestling has been my true passion but I remember I couldn’t enjoy raw while trying not to drink when every part of my body was screaming DRINK!!

I struggle every day not to drink and sometimes I drink anyways, because when im sober im angry, I relive my ptsd, the VA helps how it can but I hate who I am when im sober. My wife and son love me regardless, but I hate being sober because it makes me feel like im not engaging enough or exciting enough. This song hit my heart so hard because I know one day it may kill me. It's a never-ending cycle.

I’ve quit everything else drug wise cold turkey years ago but tobacco and alcohol to me seem to be the 2 that are so easy to get that they almost seem harder to quit than even H or coke. I can quit drinking or smoking for a week or so at a time with no shakes, or withdraw symptoms but give me some time and I’ll find myself drinking some beers. “To cope”

Real question. What if you're an Athiest with a degree in Religious studies that is going through these problems? What if you've read many versions of the Bible and the Qur'an and the Gita and the Poetic Eddas? What if you love and disdain every story equally because they are all both beautiful and harmful? And you've sung choir in a church and prayed in a Mosque but only for a pure love of social ritual, poetry, and song? I love all religions, which sort of precludes me actually believing in one as much as I'd love to. Thoughts?

Im 23.. been drinkin whiskey really really heavy for the last like 4 years... I watch reactions to this song cuz random ppl reacting for the first time always have words about it that help me/make me feel better... But bro goes "youve gotta find the lord".. im glad thats how u got sober bro but dont tell someone whos struggling, to find some thing they dont believe in... Ur guys video was great.. solid reaction.. a bunch of ur words got to me and were great but im not religious (im not a follower, just watchih reactions) but i bet not all of ur followers r religious either so if ur gonna mention religious matters i suggest you guys say something like "in my opinion" or "if ur willing to believe" instead of telling addicts "you "GOTTA" find the lord"... And then repeating "its sin" ... i loved the video tho guys! Im just saying from an atheist perspective... Some of the religious advice made me feel like.. since im not religious u guys dont mean me
