Channing Tatum was supposed to play Gambit, IIRC he even came out on stage at Comic-Con, hence the "Are you sure you didn't just really really want them to" remark. Also there's a longstanding rumor that Snipes and Reynolds didn't like each other. I saw a clip of Snipes talking about how Reynolds called him up to reprise his role as Blade and he mentions that they never hated each other and just kinda played along, hence the "I don't like you"..."Never did" comments. There are so many easter eggs in this movie.

There wasn't a rumor that Snipes hated Reynolds. However, Snipes HATED working on Blade Trinity, likely due to the director or he was just in a messed up part of his life. Reynolds has stated that working on Trinity was a terrible experience, especially since there were days when Snipes wouldn't leave his trailer. In fact, during a scene in the movie, Snipes was supposed to lay down and then open his eyes, but he refused to open his eyes, so the movie version uses awful CGI to open his eyes.

Like the shop that D&W get thrown into before they fight the group of Deadpool alternates. The shop is called Liefeld's Just Feet. Rob Liefeld created Deadpool and is a comic artist known for drawing feet terribly. The banner alongside the bus as they fight the Deadpool alternates says Stanlee Steamer, since 1922. That's a nod to Stan Lee, who was born in 1922. This movie is FULL of stuff like that.

Fun fact: Ryan Reynolds whole immediately family is in the credits for this movie. Obviously Ryan as Deadpool. Blake Lively is the voice of Ladypool (but she's not in the suit). Kidpool is played by their daughter Inez. Babypool is played by their son, Olin. Their other daughter James (named after Ryan's dad) has a short clip as a screaming mutant kid. Their 3rd daughter Betty is not "in the movie," but she is credited as "Hugh Jackman wrangler." She loves Hugh Jackman and always pretends to attack him with pretend claws.

Wesley Snipes set 2 records that actually exist in the Guinness Book of World Records: 1) Longest time span between first and most recent appearance by one actor as the same Marvel superhero. His first appearance was in 1998's BLADE, 26 years ago. He surpasses previous recordholder Patrick Stewart (22 years gap between X-MEN (2000) and MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS (2022)). Hugh Jackman and Tyler Mane (Sabertooth) have also surpassed Patrick Stewart's record as well (24 years in their case). 2) Longest gap between consecutive appearances. He last played the role in BLADE: TRINITY (2004), which coincidentally also starred Ryan Reynolds. Jennifer Garner set the female records in both categories (21 years between DAREDEVIL (2003) and now for first appearance, and 19 years between ELEKTRA (2005) and now for most recent prior appearance).

Returning Characters: Johnny Storm: First up, we have Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, who made his debut in Fantastic Four #1 (1961) alongside the Fantastic Four. This team kicked off the Marvel Era of comics, becoming Marvel's first family. Chris Evans famously played the character in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) under 20th Century Fox before being casted as Captain America a few years later. However, the version we see in the film appears to be a variant, not the same Johnny Storm from the films. This likely applies to the rest of his Fantastic Four as well, whom we assume were also pulled into the void and met their end. Why do I think that this Johnny is a variant? Because I don't want the Johnny, along with the F4 I loved from those films to have died :( We also got a glimpse of the Fantasticar, modelled after the version from the 1960s comics rather than the modern one featured in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) used by Chris Evans' Fantastic Four. It's unclear who owns the Fantasticar shown in Deadpool & Wolverine. Perhaps the variant of Chris Evans' Human Torch in this film comes from a reality inspired by the Silver Age of Marvel Comics, home to a 1960s Fantastic Four, Avengers, and X-Men. Though his hairstyle and mannerisms seem more modern day so my guess is that there could be multiple versions of the Fantastic Four in the void, similar to the "Loki variant community" we saw in Loki. It’s almost a running joke how 20th Century Fox could never do justice to the Fantastic Four. From the 2000s films to the failed 2015 reboot that only created so that Fox could hold onto the rights. Their attempts always fell short of capturing what makes Marvel’s First Family so special. So I like to imagine that's why the void may be home to so many versions of the F4. Shining light on how mishandled the IP has been under Fox and that the Void is filled with failed F4 projects. Fantastic Four (1994 - 1996) along with the Silver Surfer (1998) Animated Series are amazing though. Blade: Next up, we have Blade, who first appeared in The Tomb of Dracula #10 (July 1973) as a supporting character before eventually getting his own series. Wesley Snipes reprises his iconic role as the vampire hunter, having previously played the character in Blade (1998) along with its sequels Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004). Notably, Snipes had a difficult working relationship with co-star Ryan Reynolds on Blade: Trinity, reportedly Snipes stayed in character and only responding to the name "Blade" throughout filming. Gambit: We finally see Gambit, first introduced in The Uncanny X-Men #266 (1990), portrayed here by Channing Tatum. Tatum was originally cast as Gambit for a solo film that was ultimately cancelled. He even appeared at Comic-Con 2015 alongside the casts of Deadpool (2016) and Fantastic Four (2015), wearing a Gambit T-shirt. In a humorous twist, Tatum returned nine years later still wearing the same shirt after the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, and was pulled on stage after they screened the full film for the audience.Throughout this film, Gambit hints at his uncertainty about whether he was born in the void, suggesting he never had the chance to be a hero. This is a fun nod to Tatum never having the chance to play Gambit. The void in the film is essentially one big commentary on 20th Century Fox and all its mishandling of Marvel projects. Thanks to X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-1997), where viewers fell in love with his charming Cajun accent, playful personality, and romantic chemistry with Rogue. In this film, Tatum nails the accent, though it’s exaggerated for comedic effect to fit Deadpool's tone. But according to actual Cajun's his accent is solid. If you're craving more Gambit, I highly recommend X-Men '97 for its brilliant portrayal of him. It's also just an overall fantastic series with amazing writing, stories, and characters that will make you feel all the emotions. Elektra: Lastly, we have Elektra, who first appeared in Daredevil #168 (1981). Jennifer Garner reprises her role as Elektra from Daredevil (2003) alongside Ben Affleck's Daredevil, and from her own spinoff film Elektra (2005), where she truly embraced the character. The scene where she responds to a comment about Daredevil's death with, "It’s fine," is a playful nod to her real-life relationship with Affleck. This seems to be the same Elektra from the film as well. What happened to these characters? It seems the TVA, at Deadpool's request, returned everyone back to their respective timelines. Later, Ryan Reynolds released a video online showing Gambit walking away after the final battle, only to stop and turn around as a portal opens, its glow reflected in his eyes. We still don’t know who opened the portal, but it's safe to say that everyone survived. There’s even speculation that the TVA may have brought Johnny back to life but that's just wishful thinking. Background Characters: There are several other characters as well, many of whom are re-cast versions of existing Marvel characters from the Fox-era films. These include a version of Bullseye from Daredevil, as well as Azazel, Lady Deathstrike, Blob, Psylocke, and, of course, Juggernaut based on his appearance in X-Men: The Last Stand but portrayed by a different actor. All of these characters are members of Nova's crew, having found themselves lost in the void.

Love all the shout outs to his wife and family. Blake (Ladypool) was on Gossip Girl (extra bone joke bc RR's wife), Nicepools' comments about seeing Ladypool later and how she lost the baby weight, the use of BYE BYE BYE at the start because she is absolutely crazy for NSYNC and 4 members actually attended the New York City premiere. Babypool was his baby daughter's voice and Kidpool was his 9 yo daughter as well making that peen joke.

Fun fact: Headpool is our first official live action Marvel Zombie. Headpool is the zombified head from one of the Marvel Zombie comics. I want to say he becomes Zombie Deadpool, then Headpool in the story arc that gave us Zombie Hyperion and the Squadron Supreme which took place on main Marvel Comic reality but was stopped by the Supernatural hero groups and I want to say Man Robot, I forgot his actual name. It's a whole thing. While I do like Marvel Zombies, some of their books can be a little head scratchy or "Wtf did I just see?!".

3:40 That little bit right there, this second, is important. It shows how Laura was trying to cut him free of the branch. One shallow, one deep, and one cut that went all the way through. Laura had cut metal limbs off of people in Logan. Laura was trying to get him loose without hurting Logan. And as happily disrespectful Deadpool is, Ryan Reynolds still gave Logan proper respect. Something I really appreciated about this movie was the opening credits. Deadpool 1 and 2 had the credits at the very end and I was never a fan of that, but this time they acknowledged everyone just like James Gunn did with the Guardians franchise. The quality took me by surprise because this is a Deadpool movie. Deadpool 1 and 2 were made to intentionally look like total CGI, but with the MCU involved they had to raise the bar. It paid off more than well. Also, I don’t think the MCU was necessarily at a low point except with Secret Invasion. Most of the projects they revealed after Endgame were pretty excellent. Guardians Volume 3 and Loki season 2 helped pick up the slack and more. What I was most excited for was for you guys to see Laura again. Dafne Keen was only 10-11 years old when she worked on Logan 2017 which was her big acting debut. Now she’s 19 and after all these years she can still channel that rage. Dafne had doubts as to whether she would be able to portray Laura the same way or better. Now that she’s back, she actually wants to continue with her role. Before my sister and I went to see this movie on opening weekend, I joined for her first time watching Loki season 2. I especially wanted her to see Ke Huy Quan, and like me his character O.B. ended up being one of her favorites. The reactions paid off after seeing the new and improved TVA have a role. By the way, this is the second X-Men film to have Bye Bye Bye. The first one was X-Men 2. However, that’s not Ryan Reynolds in the suit. That was a pro dancer who needed to come up with the choreo as fast as he could. And finally, there are two variants in the Deadpool Corps that I wanna acknowledge. First, English soccer player Paul Mullin appeared as Welshpool. He currently plays in the Welsh club Wrexham which is co-owned by Ryan. You can also see Paul in the doc series Welcome to Wrexham. Our second mention is none other than Tom Holland’s brother Harry. He got to portray his own take on the merc with the mouth. They call him Haroldpool.

When I saw it in theatres, I thought the mid credits scene was an official goodbye to the two characters. It was only after that I realized it was just a homage to the Fox Universe. This really is a love letter to Ryan and Hugh’s friendship. These two started Wolverine’s trilogy together, it’s only fitting they end Deadpool’s trilogy together. Hugh didn’t have to go as hard as he did for this role but, boy, did he ever prove he is irreplaceable as Wolverine.

You mentioning Tony Stark as the anchor being is actually quite interesting, Logan is the anchor being for deadpools univers (the Xmen fox universe), but if anyone was to be the anchor being for earth 616 (current Disney universe) it would probs be Tony....and since hes dead.....

I was too young to see the first two Deadpools in theaters (and Logan as well), so I'm glad I got to see this one when it came out. Maybe it could've been better in some parts, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
