Adding 268 MORE horsepower to a '93 F-150: Engine Swap Pt.1

We're kicking off a new phase of this project truck: it's a 1993 Ford F-150 SIngle Cab Short Box, and right now its powered by a 200hp 351w V8. At 5.8 liters, this ford was powerful in 1993, but it's nowhere enough for what the owner wants to do with it today. This is going to be an off road centered "prerunner" style build with long travel suspension, superduty axles, and a whole lot more power. Were ADDING 268 MORE horsepower to this truck, which will bring the total to 468hp and 507 lb.ft. which should make this thing scoot in a hurry. That means a new engine is going in place, but the question is which one? Of course, the LS is a popular choice, but we want to keep this thing all Ford, but we need some more cubes and more power.

Hey LT, Throw some blow-in insulation between the stud bays on that garage wall. It should mitigate temps pretty well. Then you could get a small mini-split heat pump just for the garage. You’ll have air conditioning or heat. Just make sure the unit can operate during the winter temps of your climate. Hope you are well, love the channel.

Main difference is the 408 has a 4" crank with longer rods compared to a 393w that uses 0.030" over 302 pistons, stock length 351w rods and a 3.85" crank. 393w can be more budget oriented depending on what quality of parts you are looking to use. A 408 kit with all forged parts is no more expensive than a 393 with the same stuff.
408 Windsor Stroker WONT FIT in this '93 F-150 E4OD
