1/27/23: I followed your instructions to the letter today and it was so easy. Now I won't be intimidated by it going forward in other projects that require a zipper pocket. In fact, I think every tote bag or purse I make will have a zipper pocket. Talk about going zipper crazy...LOL! Thank you for sharing this technique. It was fun. 😃

Thank you for sharing your videos! I watched this one over and over and still had to watch yours, along with another one, WHILE I WAS ACTUALLY DOING IT to actually get it. I still ended up making one of my lining pieces (the one no one would ever see) wrong side out as I was watching he video for the bag with the all white lining so it didn't matter. LOL! But I love how my zippers turned out! My first try! I am saving this one so I can actually see the right and wrong side of my pocket. I made my bag like yours, with fashion fabric for the pocket lining as I thought I had some left over.

You can add a piece of fusible Pellon SF101 Shap-Flex (it's woven and very thin) which will give the area a lot more support.

Isn't it funny how we tend to get all OCD over our craft stuff, such as lining up stripes even though it'll be hidden behind a zip? I do it too, and I'm FAR from being a true OCD sufferer....hoarding yes, but not OCD.
@SoSewEasy10 жыл бұрын
I just can't help it! Only an elf inside the pocket could check it out, but still - if a job is worth doing, best to do it right.
