Thanks so much Gladys! You can definitely do it! I don't usually wash my fabrics beforehand unless I'm worried that the color will bleed. But I also wash in cold water and line dry so there's not a big change of shrinkage happening either :). If you're worried about color bleeding out or shrinking, you should prewash. This was really helpful -- but I think your measurement is off! The slot you cut open is as wide as the length of the zipper tape, whereas I think it should be the length of the zipper itself! Making it as long as the tape means that the ends aren't very secure and there's a gap at either end. I cut my slot according to the video, but ended up having to patch other fabric in to fill in the ends :(

My zipper tape is usually about 1.5" longer than the zipper itself :). This opening is for the zipper length, not the zipper tape :). Thanks for watching!

Your draw on the wrong side of the pocket piece. The fabric you are sewing it to is the right side. Which means both pieces will have the right sides together. Hope that helps. 😊
