Stumbled on your video today. Started welding up brackets for my extra lights on my BX2380 yesterday. You just solved my dilemma for how to wire up the lights. Never thought of the factory light switch. Didn't want to drill a hole and mount and extra switch. Thanks for the video. I subscribed and liked.

How's she goin'? Having lights and being able to see is pretty nice eh!!! Nice job on the splices and the light position really works good for you. Thanks for sharing and take care!!

Hey Mike! Thanks for tuning in, been so busy lately haven't gotten on here! Yeah they really work great nice being able to see when the bucket is blocking the headlight beam. If i ever get around to modifying my rops to clear the garage door I will be mounting lights up there and I think that will be even better!

I like you idea, but another option would be to remove the pin out of the back of the connector body. Then you could slide a bit of shrink tube back over the wire. Next do the steps you outlined. I might also get some of that liquid tape, and paint the connection first, then slide the shrink tube over the splice. Outside of that, I really enjoyed your video.

Nice job! The placement of the lights could be better. First deep snow, or if you travel in the woods, those lights will eventually get knocked off.
@Tyler_Koehn5 жыл бұрын
yeah they lasted there until i was doing forestry work. a few days of that knocked one of them off and i decided to move them to the very front of the frame now. thanks for the comment

Nice job! I did the same thing on my BX23S only I mounted the lights on the ROPS. I was happy to see the fuse go in. It would be nice if Kubota made it easier to use the existing fuse block. I agree with soldering the electrical connections. I do the same after crimping things and like you I make use of heat shrink tubing. I also use dielectric grease to prevent corrosion on the connectors. I mounted my relay on the same stud you used. Thanks for the video.

Thanks bud! Yes that would have saved a few steps but NOTHING is ever easy Haha. Yes the rops are a great spot however I found out the hard way tops do not fit in my garage garage😭 glad to hear im not the only one who loves the solder and grease!!! Have a good one!

Which size of fuse did you use and how did you determine it's size? Very insightful video, thank you!
@Tyler_Koehn6 жыл бұрын
These lights are 18w a piece so 36w total. So 36watts=12Volts x 3 amps. The amps is the variable. So I'm not sure offhand but most likely used a 5amp fuse

I have it set up on a quick attach plate so attaching it is just like hooking up a bucket. Works out nicely (however a bit heavy). Thanks for watching!

what is the brand and size of the relay you bought from Amazon.? how did you figure the load to get?
@Tyler_Koehn5 жыл бұрын
Here is a link to the relay used here: amzn.to/2VErsVp Better waterproof relay: amzn.to/2tM0gIm These common relays are all ~40amp. If your referring to the lights load for a fuse then you have to know how many watts they are. Lights used: amzn.to/2EMaSxe So with these likes being 18w each light = 36watts for the pair. Fuse rating = (watts/volts) x 1.25 4.5amp fuse=(36/12)x1.5 Moving the next size up on the fuse tells me to use a 5amp fuse for this. Hope this helps you out

Good job, the only improvement I would recommend is using high quality heat shrink.
@Tyler_Koehn5 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud! Curious what you mean about heat shrink. It being 2:1 instead of 3:1?

The headlights are annoyingly useless. I plan to put a disconnect in line.
