This is one of the loveliest edges I've ever seen . I really appreciate that we don't have to single crochet around the border first. Looks great. A BIG thank you.

I made a single crochet line right around the blanket, then went and did a single crochet in the space between two of the clusters, two chains, next space again and cluster into the chains. Produced an amazing border as I did 5 trebles in one space and a single in the next one!

Here's the problem I'm having: what do I do with the side of the work that's *not* like this, with chain-3 gaps and clean double crochets? Because the other side, where I did most of the decreases (slip stitching back up the "shell") has a different layout. Where do I put the border stitches then? (edit: it's a scarf I'm working with, btw)

Laktastic I wondered that too, until I finally finished my 40" square lap robe. By the time you finish the very final block, there is NO uneven edge any longer. It will look all the same. Promise.

I know this is a long time since this tutorial was published but as a lockdown crocheter I am still learning so I have watched carefully and have almost finished my border but I have a question,, we start on a corner with 5 dc, the other corners are 4dc 1 little bobble (sorry don't know how to spell it) and another 3 dc so how do we finish the border when we come back at the first dc we started with? I really hope someone can let me know...thank you for this video.

Deevine Mitchell Again..i have had this asked of me so many times..depends on the size hook you are using, the yarn you are using and how your tension is..their is really no set answer on this..i made a lapghan and if you watched the video i did give the block count in that video...i cant remember it at the moment but you can watch that and that will give you an idea on that size and you can go from there

hi Stacey love this pattern I made a beautiful shawl for a bride then decides to make an afghan. I have about 40 ounces of yarn how many rows (bkocks) should I make bef I start to decrease. pattern calls for 97 but I know I don't hv enough yarn for that many what do u suggest. T hanks for any help
@Stitchinstacy
@Stitchinstacy 8 жыл бұрын
+Paula Moorefield Miss Paula, as I have stated before with this C2C, its very difficult to speculate to anyone on the yardage on an afghan...if you are not using a specific pattern or following the video here, giving or taking a couple rows or blocks, its not easy for me or anyone to say or give this answer....and this is because the stitch itself is just an odd one to do that with based on how its worked up...I wish their was a way to give you an answer and everyone else that asks..but unless i have worked up different sizes, i cannot honestly do so in my expert opinion..this one you either will need to just have enough yarn to do a full afghan(I would base this off the actual written patterns that are offered for this stitch pattern) or you have no choice but to freeform it(working it as you go)...I really cant give you counts, estimates, measurements, etc for something like this..Im very sorry i cant give you what you need for this but if i cant be sure, im not one to pretend to know and give you the wrong answer..I gave the size on the one i did work....and that is how i got that size is by working it up, otherwise, i would follow the pattern sizes given:)

I'm having a problem keeping my sides/widths even especially when doing a rectangular C2C. and I've noticed when I use a very soft yarn it seems to be worse. Like it stretches, but only on the areas of the softest yarn. HELP!!
@Stitchinstacy
@Stitchinstacy 8 жыл бұрын
+Lana Kocurek Not sure what you mean keeping your sides even..dont know why they would be uneven..i have no idea what to tell you on that because i dont know what you may be doing.. as for the soft yarn..best i can say is dont use it if it makes it worse..if you have issues with uneven edges, sounds like your stitches are not correct..You would need to follow would need to watch the tutorial closely to see what you may be doing or not doing..Good luck!
@lanakocurek4117

+Stitchinstacy I guess what I mean is it is not true square, 90 degree corners. I've been very careful with my stitches. if I fold it in half corner to corner it matches up, but when I fold it end to end one side is longer, and not as wide as the opposite side. It's not a true square. I did several rectangular blankets and had the same problem so i went to the square c2c instead. but still have the issue.
@Stitchinstacy
@Stitchinstacy 8 жыл бұрын
+Lana Kocurek I don't have any idea why it's not a square..I have not had issues with any I have made not being a square...this is the first time I've had this question or issue from someone so..I vets something you have done somewhere along the way..but I can't say what it is

Suraya Lian hahaha! I LOVE that you pointed that out because I can't help but notice their hands! Like swelling of the fingers or bruising around knuckles. And their nails - clean? Manicure? A Pet Peeve of mine is if the polish is old or chipped (This is very evident in Bead work & make-up tutorials). Thankfully I have never seen unkept nails or fingers from crochet videos. Although I can spot fake nails a mile away! I don't think the Host's realize at that magnification that you can see the original nails under the fake ones. I only spot them when detail is crucial and its longer than a few minutes. :-)

Are what you call "BLOCKS" just "ROWS"?
@Stitchinstacy
@Stitchinstacy 9 жыл бұрын
Lynda Thomas Well if you are reading the pattern, any pattern worked in this manner,, they are always called blocks,, because they are not worked as rows like most patterns,, its very important in crochet and any other art you do to understand technique..this is one of those times...you work this pattern in blocks..beause you are forming blocks,, not rows or straight stitches..

Stacy, I have my mixed media journals and my canvas and my water colors, acrylics, inktense, my altered Art projects, but Sweetie I am still lost on that response. I might be just too old for that. We might have to give me the strip down version. I have felt as of late that I might be losing intelligents as I gain years. Possibly Wisdom does not equate to our ability to maintain our ability to continue to learn quickly the newest techniques. For my Art is still Superb. Wise beyond these years. Though times I can't believe I did go to college. So please bare with me. I've never read the pattern You said fort something blocks. I too would like to make one for MY full size bed that I'll never share with ANOTHER. Thx Dear. XX's from Utah
@Stitchinstacy
@Stitchinstacy 9 жыл бұрын
Lol ok Miss Lynda..yes you can call them rows if you want.. but technically you are making blocks..they are not addressed as rows because as this pattern is an always been taught,, you are making blocks as you go along..i guess what im saying is working rows is more of simple stitchwork,, you are making up 4 stitches here to make 1 block,, you do this all the way across which eventually will make a row you could say..but youhave to make blocks before you make rows:)))..does that make better sense for you?...

Picot stitch is pronounced pico not pea coat. It's French and they don't like pronouncing the last part of their words, kind of like vallay is valet, franswah is Francoise, dillahto[then a barely hinted at 'n' and no 't' whatsoever] is dilettante, etc. Who are we to pronounce a consonant when they don't?
