Way easier method than acrylic. I've been doing my own nails for years and last time I did acrylics, I thought to myself I need to come up w something else cuz I'm just over acrylics. This is genius!

I had these last about 2 weeks just like gel polish would. The key is how you prep the nail and proper gel application. Make sure your foundation layer is incredibly thin then do several thin layers of clear (or top coat) to build up the thickness (curing between each layer).
@ThePolishedMommy11 жыл бұрын
You want to make sure the tips fit the nail properly, if needed file down the edges to fit. Filing the smile line smooth helps to blend the tip to the natural nail, it also allows the gel to apply smoothly so there's not a stress point. When you have a weakness at the stress point (smile line) you are more likely to have the tips pop off.

Hello! I just want to say thank you so much for posting this video! I have tried other methods for fake nails and they failed. I have severe anxiety and can not got to the salon. I tried this method yesterday for the first time and I love it! It was easy to do. I know I need more practice with it. Is there a place I can post the picture of my nails to show the success of it? Thank you again!

Omg i finally found a video that answered my question. I always wondered if I could just put glue to create a smooth transition from nail tip to m nail but there was never a video on it so I always thought it was something obvious I should know not to do and thought I was just stupid for even considering it 😂but now I'm definitely doing that, it actually works! Thank you!

It’s a great and very helpful tutorial I was looking for it I wanted to apply tips with regular gel polish but I was confused how!
@ThePolishedMommy11 жыл бұрын
You would do foundation, structure gel, color, then top coat. You could also skip color and do 2-3 coats of structure gel (depending on how thick you want it) instead and use regular polish on top just like you would on your natural nails.
@mz.abbott8365 Жыл бұрын
I followed this about 9 months ago (using ALL the same tips, glue, foundation, structure and top coat) and have been able to wear natural looking tips for 3 weeks before a back fill is needed. Followed your directions and ALL the same steps (I skip gel color). I use thin foundation, 2 thin coats of structure, and top coat. For the rare times I want color I used a very baby light pink regular polish and remove with NON-acetone remover if I tire of it. Thank You!!!! 😊

@ThePolishedMommy11 жыл бұрын
They key is working very quickly, the longer you let the remover sit on them nail it will start to break down the gel. I you change your polish often(2-3x or more a week) I would look at other enhancement products to use (like hard gel or acrylic).

Thank you! I was wondering, if I could extend my nails with tips somehow, because they're really short and I'm simply unable to keep them longer. Unfortunately the gel doesn't seem to attach properly to my nails, but the gel polish does. So thank you for this explanation, it's the answer I was looking for.

I went to a nail place and ask them to do the gel polish with fake tips. They said that they couldn't do it without putting the acrylic powder. In my mind I'm like really? I'm not going back there again I do love how they turned out however I didn't know until after she started putting the powder on that they couldn't do it the way that I wanted it which is how you did it. I don't want acrylic nails right now I don't want to deal with refills cut Downs and all the extra I just wanted some cute length and some cute color that will last

Hi, just loved your video. But was wondering what should I say to the salon person if I want the exact nails like these? acrylic or gel nails? And if we apply colour polish it won't destroy the manicure, right? And for how much time do these stay, if I get it done professionally?
@ThePolishedMommy9 жыл бұрын
Mehak Horan I've heard them called "party nails" since they don't last as long as acrylics. You might have to explain what you want (natural tip extension with clear gel polish) and be prepared that not all salons will offer this service.
@ThePolishedMommy9 жыл бұрын
Mehak Horan You can apply polish over it and use non acetone to remove it, depending on how the gel was applied this could lead to peeling or lifting though.

I haven't tried using Gelish gel polish in dual forms but I would guess you just apply the foundation, cure, then apply either color,structure gel or the top it off to the dual form and apply to your nail and cure. I did a video on dual forms using Gelish hard gel. But you wouldn't be able to use the Gelish gel polish for extensions(menaing it would need to be applied over your natural nail or a tip) bc it's not durable enough.
@ThePolishedMommy12 жыл бұрын
You could. If you want to just apply the tip you could add a wrap on top(I have a video on this-'Adding strength to your natural nails using wraps'). However, the tips don't stay on as long as they would with the gel on top. Once your nails start to grow you could start using a treatment polish(I've had good results with Nailtek II).
@spoof61616 жыл бұрын
Awe that took all day. Lol. gotta love kids
@ThePolishedMommy11 жыл бұрын
You would use the Sculpting gel in place of the clear/color step. Using a brush designed for applying gel, pick up a small amount on the brush and smooth it over you nail just like you would regular gel polish. After curing, apply a second coat if necessary, then top coat, cure, and you're done.
@colleenh79894 жыл бұрын

after about a week I did have some of the tips break off. The gel polish is strong but after about a week the glue doesn't hold the tips on very well. When you use tips under acrylics or hard gel they last because those are stronger materials. However, these create a thin natural looking nails as opposed to acrylics or hard gels.
@janellesmoothy69514 жыл бұрын
You should try the builder in a bottle gel that some brands have it’s so easy to use and adds a little extra strength. Loved how you file the tips first. I’m so going to try this 🥰

They look beautiful, wouldn't last a day on me tho, no strength at all. Curious why you don't add some builder gel just for strength? The whole process is the exact same, as far as damage goes. Its the improper prep, and removal that does the damage, not the gel or acrylic. You should do more videos, natural teacher!

I glued extensions onto my nails and filed the line where it adhered to my nail but it looked very obvious. So I filed the line even more but it made it only worse... the only difference was that my tips were straight at the bottom where they are supposed to be glued and didn't have this "C" curve like yours. Is this the reason why mine looked so obvious?
