Wow, those olives are like golf balls 😳...hope the new process turns out well for you!..ps, I saw an earlier comment, and of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I'd just like to say in my opinion, please don't script your vlog...you both come across as completely natural and that's a massive part of the charm of your channel!...just keep doing what you're doing, it's awesome as it is! 👍

Thank you so much Mark. I think that too. We are two normal people doing our home restoration, sharing with others in the hope of giving advice and sharing our disasters too! Everybody who buys an old property will relate to this xxx

I make soap with caustic soda and I came up with the phrase: "Water Waits, Lye Lands" to help me remember which order to do it in.

Great vlog. I hope the olives turn out the way you had hoped for. I really enjoy seeing what you both are up to each day. I’m sure it’s hard to find new things to show on a daily vlog. Thank you for keeping it real. See ya tomorrow.

All jobs have their problems but fortunately you have the digger coming that can fill the whole in for you. Lots to do but we are seeing the ‘real’ life where you have to contend with problems before, during and after the job you first started ! Keeping it real ! 👍🏽😎

I was not aware that caustic soda was used on olives.
@FincaLife3 жыл бұрын
It's sodium hydroxide, originally made from wood ash!
@portugalonawingandaprayer4733 жыл бұрын
Ahhh you may have used a wooden spoon … but a plastic jug …. I was waiting on it seeping through on your lovely bench top or whose still your toes ! Hope this solar upgrade gives you all you need ! 🙏☘️😘

Thanks Hazel, good point lol. It comes in a plastic bottle :)

@@FincaLife But it’s in its plastic bottle in Crystal form … many years ago I saw what caustic soda could do on a very very dirty concrete yard at my uncle’s farm … it just ate many years of dirt and left it so clean … but I remember the such safety palava prior to him doing probably scared me for life against using it ! … 🙏☘️😘

Hi Both, Did the couple that you showed around the other property already buy it? I was talking with Anna and we would like to look at it if it was still available. Haven't seen the dogs lately are they ok? Love the progress you are both making, mouth watering over here for those olives too.
@FincaLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, we understand the offer has been accepted. The dogs are fine and even walking on a slack lead now, most of the time :) We'll save you some olives...

Watched you making that mortar to cement your solar panels in. You never added gravel? I hope you don';t get charged a sun tax like we are in Australia. We were subsidised to install solar panels on the roof, and we got paid for the excess electricity we produced. Now the amount we were paid has dropped and soon the power companies will be charging us to take our power. (SUN TAX)
@FincaLife3 жыл бұрын
The 'sand' is a sand / gravel mix. That sun tax is outrageous. Here you can sell any surplus to the grid, I believe. Unfortunately we aren't connected to any grid :)

Guys, excellent visuals, but the context is lacking. Bump it up a notch script wise. Cheers!

Gary keep watching. In the beginning and end, I watch to see who’s going to talk over who, lol. It’s a tie so far.😀
@FincaLife3 жыл бұрын
lol, thanks. You have to watch every day to keep up to speed - we don't have time to write scripts....
@sharonwhyler99423 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gary and fair comment. Unfortunately, what you see is what you get. Nothing is scripted we just do it. I agree, sometimes I watch it back and think we didn't explain things properly, or else Andy does interject and throw me slightly, lol. However, I believe natural and unstaged is best for us. I hope you won't be put off and continue to follow us 🤗
