Amuary is a real trooper as much as it is tedious he is doing such an excellent job and he’s only himself to blame, after all it was his idea! It’s a testament to his character that he has the patience to do the whole rooms so carefully…..but then we wouldn’t expect anything else from him or his cousin!

I remember my granddad cleaning out the wood fire ovens in spring. Spreading it on the flower and vegetable beds. Usually while there still was a bit of snow left . ( in may in our part of the world 😅) It made the snow melt and added nutrition to the soil . My grandmas garden was out of this world . Marie would have loved it !!! Great way to reuse something that many looks on as waste! And he also polished the glass with it. I adore Michael , we always seem to sit in the same kind of information on most subjects. We have the same interests from cooking to history to painting to Beatrix potter to organs and music to gardening to so much more😂 He’s my souls brother without him knowing it❤ I also feel at Home with his cheeky humor😂

Yes! It would be a dream to have an entire room filled with floor to ceiling shelves & a cozy place to cuddle up near a window. I also really love to build collections based on special interests, secret histories & interesting bibliographies. I would also love a special desk filled with historic maps, as I really enjoy ancient cartography. It's the explorer/discoverer spirit in me, since as a child, I really wanted to be like a female Indiana Jones when I grew up.

18:53 the dog paintings are so exquisite.❤ Michael is wonderful. i wish i knew that when i was young and i never knew how to clean the fireplace windows. now that i'm in my 50's, i learn from Michael how it's done.

Talking about chimneys and fireplaces. I have an iron stove, heated by wood logs, located inside a chimney. What improved immensely was to put refractory bricks inside the chimney (aligned against the walls) so all the heat from the stove was "pushed" out from the chimney and inside the room. It also works as a big radiator as these refractory bricks stay hot/warm all night. I truly recommend these refractory bricks, the process to put them with refractory cement/sand is not expensive and the result is very good.
