Feather dusters are very chill. They will find and attach themselves to a wall or the glass with their foot* they're filter feeders so you can feed them or just let it passively eat what's in your water column. They will close up when things move nearby it but usually appear again shortly after

What I do right before adding a new tank mate is to lightly feed the fish already in there. It focuses their attention to the food so that you can deflect their attention away from the newbies. That will stop any issues like the clown fish chasing down the shrimp.

i'll give that a shot next time, thanks!

Those are sexy shrimps you got. If not well fed, they may eat your corals.

Now that you showed the star fish, what happened to the one you got?
@DreamStateLivingАй бұрын
I had it years ago in a little pico reef. Tank was too small and not established enough, lasted a few months :/

Don’t inverts have to be drip acclimated? Glad you picked two.
@DreamStateLivingАй бұрын
Doesn't hurt but I personally don't anymore unless it's something more hi end. Sometimes I will do a version of acclimating where I put a bit of tank water mixed in there as they temp. That's just what I do, not saying that's the right/wrong way.
@dpp898Ай бұрын
I've been floating popping and dropping fish and inverts for 10 years never had issues. Personal preference imo.

@@DreamStateLivingTemp acclimating, then adding them after dumping the water in a net. It's a freshwater thing because you don't have to acclimate to salinity.
