But you do a magnificent job making your efforts entertaining and understandable, maybe to such an extent that the tasks difficulty no longer get the recognition they deserve. If you have the motivation, we would LOVE to see such an ambitious modification, mate! Also looking forward to see the secret project 🤩 Hats off for keeping it secret this long! @sdlion7287 4 жыл бұрын
@H3ddo at least so far it seems he already have all the parts he needs, the only problem left is the cable routing tech he will use (how he will make the flex). Though as far as I've read, there's already several services where you can design your flex and it will be sent wherever you are without problem.
@sdlion7287

Once more unto the breach Scotty. Everyone is right, you have contacts you didn't before. You have knowledge you didn't before. If the project starts to take a toll on you, take a break and shoot something else. All in all it shouldn't be near as difficult or take near as long, but this kind of stuff does take a fair bit of time and effort. In the end it is your choice, but I'm rooting for you and a USB C Iphone!

@Hi How Are You? I used to be a die-hard Android fan, but I've always hated Samsung phones (my Android phone(s) of choice were LG and HTC). To me, they always sold pure gimmicks as "innovations." I switched to iPhone because I found it much more compatible for me. I don't need the ability to modify file systems, change the look and layout of the entire OS, and so on. I need a phone that I can browse the web, check email, and take clear pictures. I work in construction (which almost every other construction worker I come across uses an iPhone), and I have to take VERY detailed photos. Samsung has always claimed to make a better camera because it has a higher megapixel count, but that's not what makes a great and detailed picture. Also, every Android I've used has suffered terrible slow downs for no apparent reason (I barely install any apps, and I don't even have games or tons of media on my phone), and suffers from a lack of updates since it's up to the manufacturer to update their phone support to the latest version of Android. Not to mention all of the bloatware that comes from the manufacturers (Samsung is the biggest offender in this area). But hey, if Samsung floats your boat, all the more power to you. It just isn't for me.

scotty, just like to say im a big fan of your content its very interesting to me because i have these same kind of questions I ask my self about tinkering with electronics in hopes of making it better. and it makes me sad because I really admire your passion and your skills and seeing you say that its something you want to do and that it could probably work but you just dont want to go thru with the agony is just so disconcerting. doing anything in life is hard and typically the harder it is, the more people that say something cant be possible. but overcoming challenges is even more rewarding in the end. what do you think the world would be like today if steve jobs said " na I probably could build a computer company but its going to be super hard and I dont really feel like doing all that right now"

To me it's about seeing the journey it takes to do something that not only Apple never intended but also something that everyone is thinking. I love the persistence it takes to do everything you do. Also as someone studying EE I love the techy parts too :)

It's possible since we can find enough space in the bottom of the phone (relatively speaking) so we certainly want to see you do, or at least try it. One thing I've been consider is that Type-C port is clearly larger than the lightning port so I wonder if there're enough vertical spaces for a larger port. And cutting a bigger hole or maybe sanding the screen and bottom plate is a necessary evil. Either way, it will takes up a huge mount of time and trail and error. Probably the worst part is this phone is too new to have parts in Shenzhen for you to find and replace if you accidentally break them. Anyway, wish you all the best.
