It may be cause Nickelodeon is in such hot water themselves. It's a lot how Jeanette said she hated being Sam cause she was shoehorned into an "obnoxious character" who went in and screamed all her lines and started to resent it. I think that they probably assume Lucas to be the same, however I think the big difference is he may not have been pushed to do it by and for others and not his own sake like Jeanette. He started on KZbin having fun playing a cringey character at the time blew up in popularity and just kept it up until the show stopped. I think they just expected the same resentment since he doesn't like being branded as Fred persay anymore but as himself. He isn't resentful he just grew out of it but a lot of folks are coming forward to expose they had horrid experiences at Nick so they probably want him to expose them. That or back in the day they may have found Fred the character annoying and think that Lucas should be embarrassed of it for whatever reason even though he has no reason to be

That'd be like asking Justin Bieber if he hates that he got recognized playing music on KZbin years ago. It shaped his life as it is now and gave him a lot of big opportunities plus I'm sure at the time he had fun with it till it became more work than goofing around, or he probably wouldn't have started filming them in the first place. I'm certainly glad Dan is out of there.

I've been a fan for a long time. I still have my fred shirt (cant fit it anymore) and lucas used to be my biggest celebrity crush when i was a young preteen.
