There are three main themes that keep artists from creating their best work. Lack of time, self-doubt, and getting stuck and not knowing how to move forward. This video addresses the first theme about lack of time and I’ll show you what you can do in a short period of time. Something wonderful.

You make this seem so fun! I’m loving these tips. Now that I just turned 50 I feel like I finally have the time to focus on my art. I’m an elementary art teacher so I’m always in a creative space. But with kids going to college next year I’m so excited to rediscover my own art.

Boy did you call me out as far as tech challenged and I’m, afraid of it bc I can barely figure it out. I struggle so hard it’s pathetic. Now , you talking about being 65 before doing You tube etc., I’m, 72 and have been painting seriously for 3 years or so. My 2024 word to myself is Courage. You are giving me hope that, I can and should, get into the tech parts and try flying. I know once I get some loft, I’ll never look down again. Thanks Adele !

Love hearing your word of the year is Courage, because that’s what it takes to be an artist. I learned one tech thing a week and after several weeks it starts to add up. Good luck with everything.

Oh my goodness…I just came upon your channel and …WHAT A GAME CHANGER ! You are, by far, the artist who “speaks to me” the most ! I will happily DEVOUR every video and, hopefully take a class with you as well! I live in France, but my daughter lives in Vancouver, B.C. … I can even imagine taking an in-person class, if the opportunity arises. Love your work, your personality and everything you so generously share ! Thank you! 🙏🏽 ❤

Beautiful colors, and you did not overwork it! I overwork it, even if i paint 5 minutes :)) Thanks much for sharing!

1) Trust yourself to mix colors on the canvas itself and 2) You can get a lot done in 15 minutes even if it’s just to start something that you can come back to finish later when you have another 15 minutes available. :) Thanks, Adele!

Adele, my name is Catherine. I just watched your video. I have a couple of questions. 1. I’m wondering have you taken 0:14 a class from Nicholas Wilton? 2. You mentioned you work in 3s, I get that. 👍😍👍

Hi Catherine, I have always liked to make complex ideas more simplified and so I decided to just think in threes. It helps create variety in painting and helps the work more successful because if the variety.

Dealing with odd numbers is a fabulous way to think. I agree 100%. It works in teaching complex ideas, to make them easier to understand 👍👍👍

I wish you would've explained why you left the original white mark pretty much "as is" (and added color all around it).
