I’m stunned by the number of rude comments. First of all, you’d never say such insulting things to someone’s face, would you? Doing so from the shelter of your computer is just cowardly and pathetic. It says a lot about you - you probably think it shows up your innate taste and talent, but I’m afraid it does quite the opposite. People who appreciate art, who have taste and a good eye, are also intelligent and wise enough to comprehend the fact that art (especially abstract) is highly subjective, and that just because a style doesn’t appeal to you doesn’t mean it’s bad or unskilled. When you comment that a painting is a mess or rubbish, you’re seriously showing yourself up, as rude, ignorant, and narrow minded. The generosity showed here, the number of videos that have been filmed, is amazing. Adele (whose paintings are actually wonderful) is sharing her experience, time, and skills, in a generous trusting way, and deserves nothing but gratitude and respect.

Notice it is almost all men, making rude comments. I've often seen men, especially on the internet, who are demeaning to female artists. They would be afraid to say something in person. My only guess is that they are envious because of their own lack of skill and talent.

These videos are SO HELPFUL. I have watched videos, gone to live classes, just played around in my makeshift studio, in order to make abstract art, but I’ve always wished I could see into the mind of abstract artists to better understand the decisions they make about color, line, where to put things, etc, the questions they ask themselves. Those things to me answer the questions of how to proceed. These videos were really helpful in both adding to my knowledge of ways to move through a painting, and validating that the process should be trial and error, play, making it up as you go along, rather than having some exact idea of how to perfectly do a painting. Thank you and please make more like this!

You are an excellent teacher. I really appreciate your unplanned approach. So often, videos shows an artist painting in a strategic, planned lesson. That can be very intimidating to a beginner or intermediate painter. Your approach allows everyone the freedom to not have a planned outcome, and to just play with it. Thank you!

Hi, Adele. Good morning from Toronto, Canada. I love the way you work and think about getting a composition, thank you so much for sharing what you do and this video, or I should say, both videos are completely amazing lessons, that I want to take advantage of and use on my next work. I have a tendency to experiment a lot. We all know that abstract art is very subjective, this is one of the reasons I like abstract art very much. Thank you for the free downloads. Have a happy day!

Hi Adele, I’m loving your videos. I’m very new to abstract painting, and I got the Golden Raw Umber to base my paintings, I have found that it keeps going quite grey though with the light colours I’m adding on top. hiii so i have to paint a really big canvas for someones birthday. i got like 3 days to do it and ive been really struggling because the canvas is really big and i wanted to kinda know what i would be going for and there were so many options but none of them really made me somehow excited to paint. so i’ve been thinking hard about what to paint because there was no motivation which i need when i want to paint something. and so i went on youtube to just like see and maybe let something help me. and i saw this and it made me really excited!! just the way you look at the canvas and ask yourself questions whether this or that and that it’s okay to make ‘mistakes’. so i will be using your method to paint this canvas. i’m really really looking forward to what i’m gonna come up with and how it’s gonna turn out. thank you so much for inspiring me and wish me good luck!
