Thanks much! I listened to a slow version of this song on a type of horn or flute at the end of the " Viva Zapata " film with Marlon Brando but did not know the name of the song until now. I also heard it in the film "The Wild Bunch" played slowly on the guitar. A beautiful piece of music from the past from a culture that puts heart into it's music.

Russian/Soviet Jazz musician and singer Leonid Utesov (1895-1982) who popular in first half of 20th century Soviet era has ripped off this song and never credited this song. Anybody interested can look him and his song up. Last name of musician: Utyosov , song name in Russian “S PESNEY PO ZHIZNI”
