Having not played a game yet but being an experienced wargamer, I could imagine GW either missed it or doesnt think its a big deal. I could see being on tilt if I were Donald but that is RAW. Might need a house rule or faq.

Oh it needs a house. They FAQ'd vox in the latest one but still missed the gotcha aspect 🤦♂️

@@Tabletop_Standard gotcha. Yeah I agree. As with nearly all wargames, a conversation with your opponent will help circumvent the chances of someone's fun getting crushed
@mantisman013 жыл бұрын
I think that these kinds of strats should probably be moved to pre-game as you suggest, but all of the while they're not using a pre-emptive vox blackout can be pretty backbreaking. Even getting one 2 point strat like that puts you up on points and can really scupper what your opponent had planned, and even if they dont have any strats to play, a lot of aggressive brawling battlegroups rely on using a lot of full stride on T1 to position properly, making it a solid defensive play against lists that want to get up in your grill. Obviously you can't guarantee you'll get first turn to pull off said shenaniganery, but if you do and you see your opponent eyeing that Warmaster greedily with a fistful of strats, or your staring down the barrel of a Ferrox and/or a bunch of knights, my only argument against windmill-slamming that Vox Blackout is boy does it feel scummy sometimes.

If you really wanna vox gotcha and take out any strats or strides a one use Dominant strategist Princeps will do it
@lucaslyon94993 жыл бұрын
An even better play is for Ronald to use his 5 points just to buy 5 of the blind cloud card (forget what its called) and play them in front of the Warmaster in each shooting phase. Then it can't even shoot. It's cheesy and its not really super fun, but is taking every upgrade strat on the Warmaster any better?

Stupid video isn't it 🤣 I love tracer cloud but I don't like that it's multiple use
@BigLDeuces3 жыл бұрын
@@Tabletop_Standard I think they should have kept every strat as one use. Also in my play group we’ve houseruled that vox blackout does not prevent you from playing upgrade cards, although I think playing the upgrade cards before deployment is an even more elegant solution

I prefer one use or one take strats. Makes the desicion making more interesting. Yeah I think there's just a few oversights with vox, this just me picking on it 😉

I got into Titanicus shortly after lockdown, so I only have a few games under my belt, but maybe Vox Blackout is a bit too cheap. I wouldn't want to remove it from the game, but clearly it needs some kind of adjustment.
@Tabletop_Standard3 жыл бұрын
It's a great strat yeah it should stay. Maybe 2 points?
@tompayne49453 жыл бұрын
Am i missing something? it removes ORDERS not Strats, so if you did it in the order of the viddy, badass 5000 has already been created. You'd have to preempt his play to stop it and he just does it next turn. what i miss dude?
@Tabletop_Standard3 жыл бұрын
If Vox Blackout is the first stratagem to be played the whole phase ends so the opponent can't play any cards them selves and no orders will be issued till the next stratagy phase and the examples I gave say they have to be played in the first stratagey phase Stratagey cards unless they say other wise have to be played before orders, they FAQ'd this to stop people getting an emergency repair off then shutting down the strat phase with a vox blackout. Q. Can I issue Emergency Repair orders, resolve the Repair roll and then play Vox Blackout to remove it? A. No. Stratagems are enacted before Orders are issued.
@tompayne49453 жыл бұрын
@@Tabletop_Standard so you'd have to get in before your opponent puts the cards down. I mean, it's clear to me it's only intended to shut orders down. So yes I think it needs an FAQ.

donald put all his eggs in one basket. silly man. there are two fixes, either house rule them into `before the game begins/during deployment` or simply play them in the next strategy phase instead. i would leave it as it is. vox blackout means you play the game with the titans, not the cards. if your game plan relies on a set of cards instead of good generalship then you should be punished. vox blackout achieves this.

Oh FFS, how would jamming communications on the battlefield prevent a Titan from being upgraded back at base? It's not like all those strats are bolted on at the last moment in the field. This is just sloppy rules-writing from GW again. Have appropriate "upgrade" tricks occur before setup even starts and be done with it. No more issues with jamming doing something it clearly shouldn't, and no more deciding where to put which upgrade strat after you see how deployment's gone for you.

@@Tabletop_Standard There really should be a clarification about the order in which stratagems can be used. My group runs with the rules that "at the start of the phase" stratagems are played before anyone has a chance to play optional stratagems.
