Stevie Ray Vaughan Scuttle Buttin reaction. The speed at which SRV plays always amazes me.Yet he has so much clarity and never clashes his notes.
Surely SRV musy be one of the greatest guitarists to ever live.
Enjoy this Ray Vaughan reaction.

Amazing how he went back to play there, after he got booed by the crowd 3yrs earlier ! That shocked me to see that happen - apparently the jazz snobs didn’t appreciate what he was puttin down and thought he was a show-off when he played behind his back.

You choose an excellent concert because, as he mentions near it’s close, they were *booed* at Montreux 1983, which you can find. (you may notice the booing and clapping is cut off, then you’ll hear it at the beginning of the next song.) I definitely recommend watching this entire concert.

Scuttle Buttin was like the "intermission music" a lot of the time. He liked to play it at the end of a set or at the beginning of a set. He also often played it during sound checks to get his fingers warmed up. Enjoyed it...thx! Another good one is Life By the Drop live...

5- and 7-fret hammer-on's... This was SRV's usual sound-check opening to see how his hands responded to his flex-warmups even earlier. "If they can do this song, I can do the rest," he said. His fingers played, in other words, and he barely contributed. ha!

There have been , are and will be a lot of sensational guitarists....but from now til the end of time, Stevie remains the GOAT. It just naturally oozed out of his pores. And, he worked with one of the hottest bands around. Whipper on the drums, and Tommy Shannon working his bass...rockin Stevie each and every time they walked out on a stage. And that nasty organ! So, the answer to your question,is there anyone faster...IMO....nope. But, with Stevie, it wasn't about the speed for me.

Quick story. SRV played a lot of the guitar on Bowie’s Let’s Dance record and the single China Girl. When SRV saw his outro solo being played on the Lets Dance video by a white gloved Bowie... well that ended that relationship. Anyways I still like Bowie and SRV and also it might have been before SRV was well known. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJOnkJ54f8iSnas

Add Tina S to the same list as Hendrix, SRV, and Eddie Van Halen. The video you are about to watch ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWfVc35md9Z_aNk ) has 36 million views and 500K "likes." The song is the 1801 chart-topper "Moonlight Sonata ( 3rd Movement )" by Ludwig Van Beethoven. The version Tina performs was arranged for electric guitar by Dr.Viossy. She was 17 at the time.

@@robertlavorna2968 Jimi was an avant garde genius who indeed led the way, and was fearless, but SRV was as passionate about music, was a far cleaner player, and absolutely was a natural conduit, effortless at improvising within the core of cover songs, while being astoundingly and respectfully interpretive... yet still truly inspired and creative on his own. That helps describe just a few of SRV's attributes. I can't say Jimi was a more captivating performer, or person, to me, though striking and genuinely one of the very best among great guitar players. Stevie Ray, however, was and is far more captivating to me, and utterly sexy, and his nature and character so appealing and satisfying to my heart. As for the question of speed, I'm not well-versed enough about how speedy others like Terry Kath and others are in comparison to SRV. I do know Stevie Ray was a speed demon on his song ""Rude Mood." Speed can impress, but SRV is incredibly impressive across the board (as well as across the fretboard), so he's No.1 for me.
