This was so healing in so many ways.. I felt so heard and seen and I hope one day I can say too “I’m so proud of myself”. Love Gemma so much, can’t wait to read your book.

I’ve suffered from anxiety and OCD since I was about 12. I struggled through school to hit any deadlines, I’d often get in trouble with teachers for not completing something or forgetting about something that needed to be done. Growing up, I’ve always felt like I’m so incapable compared to anyone else, I try just as hard but can’t seem to function whether that’s socialising or meeting work deadlines. I thrive when I’m working through the entire night before a big deadline. I never understood why I was this way and where my anxiety and ocd ever came from, I’d often get asked what happened to me as a child to develop these MH issues. For the first time in my life, at 30, this podcast has given me SO much clarity. I fully believe I have ADHD and RSD and will be going to speak to a doctor to find out more but even if it isn’t that, I feel so empowered after listening to you lovely ladies to dig a little deeper and find out what makes me the way I am and just accepting that it is what it is! Thank you so much ❤

Absolutely love your channel. This has really really helped me to get more information from someone affected just as myself rather than just reading online. Thank you, Gemma !! I’m currently treating the anxiety and OCD depression I get from it, still trying to figure out ADHD and if I need more attention and also a professional diagnosis or just be ok with the medication and therapy I did over the years.

I was humbled by this interview with Gemma. It's amazing due to research, social media, and society that ADHD is being diagnois and talked about much more openly than about 6 years since. Its motivating that you can change so much that important to you even if you are more introverted person. Cheers for having her on as a guest, Ferne. I love listening to the podcast every week! 🧡✨️🎤🎧

I'm ASD and was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. Gema’s words inspired me. I’ve liked her since I knew her&Harry. Not everyone understands ADHD correctly, so I’m glad Gema told about it on KZbin

Fearne this was great. But I am surprised that you say you're an introvert! I wondered if you were an introverted extrovert? As my wife considers herself one whereas I consider myself an extroverted introvert. i.e. she needs more alone time than most extroverts but is still able to function with 8 meetings a day at work. Whereas I can't manage more than a couple of meetings a week before I crash. It's interesting

I’ve got to wait for 2 years just for an initial assessment on the NHS, that’s without the assessments that follow on to confirm ADHD. It’s going to be years until I get some support and help 😭

Have you looked into right to choose?
@chelseyjay5392Ай бұрын
@@rach97134I noticed a mention of it on my letter to let me know about the 2 year wait…I got the impression it was about me being able to choose my provider…do you know whether it can change the waiting time?

I've been waiting 5 years for a diagnosis here in Scotland. It's shocking.

Is that what they basically told you? I’m trying to look into autism on the NHS and just generally more specific therapy rather than the standard CBT to see if that can benefit me to live with that being on the neurodiverse spectrum.

Please google Right to choose ADHD. It lists private clinics that have a contract with the NHS to provide the service for NHS patients (like a dentist does). The time between my GP referring me to the clinic and my diagnosis was 3 months and I have a Autism assessment tomorrow. All the information is on the right to choose website, they also have a cover letter to send to your GP if they are not aware of this route. Best of luck
