I'll try and remember to report back on running a marathon in these after Indy!! I loved them for my MP workout, so here's hoping they impress me for 26.2

I have super high arches and supinate and these are my go to shoes. I just don’t feel that lateral push that you speak of when I’m at speed. I’m so happy with them I use them on all my runs. I prefer them to my vaporflys which just sit there on my shoe stand unused. I now have the Berlin version too. As an older runner these shoes help me as I just seem to recover more easily. The vaporflys have given me pain in my posterior tibialis especially after fast 5k runs. Go figure 🤷‍♂️

PS As an everyday runner, I was blessed to be able to test most of the super shoes on the road and anecdotally, it was pretty easy to pick the shoe that worked best for me. It would be great to get in a lab and see if my road testing would come out in the data. I was extremely interested in recovery time as well as running economy. The Zoom X foam seems to allow better recovery for me and that is huge in my mind as an older runner.

I have high arches and moderately suppinate. I love this shoe. It's a little unstable at times, but if I focus on good running mechanics, I do just fine.

Totally agree with this outer part transition that the shoe guides you. I don’t run in this way, but when tired at not at my goal paces for racing, this shoe seems to change the way I run and even make me feel too sore in a long run at slower paces.

I have both versions of the Adios Pro and can definitely say that V1 is snappier and faster based on my personal experience. I even have V1 slightly ahead of the Next% and Metaspeed Sky

I felt like the Adios Pro 2 needs me to be on my A game to get anything out of it. V1 is a little more forgiving if my form starts to break down. V2 seems almost over engineered with the strange beveled forefoot (that is more awkward and less effective than the New Balance Rebel v1 geometry).

You guys got it right: when u walk in them it's like stilts and weird instability. But as the pace starts to pick up and midfoot strike, the instability disappears and u just get the spring off that the rods reward u with. I like the lightstrike pro much more than the lightstrike only shoes like SL20. Definitely more bouncy.

Right out of the gate, I'm in David's camp! LOL I respond to the Alphafly well so decided I can stop shopping/trying carbon plated shoes. This does seem like a great shoe and worthy offering in the super shoe realm.

Great review guys! I have a question regarding durability: in your experience, how many miles would you say that the lightstrike pro in this shoe can take before starting to decrease its performance? Could you use it for some training before race day? should I keep it just for competition?

Thanks for the review, super informative. When I first started running I went to a specialty running store to have my gait analyzed and they said I overpronated badly and put me in the Brooks Adrenaline. After several years I got bored & slowly transitioned to neutral shoes (Max Road 4, Endorphin Speed) with no issues. I have noticed that the wear patterns on my shoes all start near the heel and all along the lateral side of the outsole. Given this information do you think the Adios Pro 2 may work for me? I may just have to try them out and see but would appreciate your expert insight. Thanks!

In terms of durability, which super shoe would you say is the most durable? Which shoe can take the most mileage before flattening out?

So is this shoe a go all to make them work and not good for slower runners or training days?

I'm still uncertain on my opinion on this shoe. Done a few runs in it and while I like the bit of bounce you get and the cushioning feels nice I still feel like I get a bit of side to side woble around the midfoot/ankle on each stride and I'm sure my calfs are having to work harder. Think I need to do an uptempo long run in them and then another in my endorphin pros to come to a clear decision.

Not a fan of 10mm drop. They measure it as 39.5 and 29.5. Roominess is what I need, though, as most 13s don’t fit me length wise, but are perfect in mid foot fit, where 14 is way too wide, and a tad bit long. If this shoe runs long, it may be perfect for me. Maybe I just have to get over the 10mm drop. Might not matter as much at the paces I’d be running at.

It's much more interesting to see the larger studies to see some population data for me because I've been trying all the shoes myself. I think I can estimate running economy decently based on subjective feel and times in workouts. The larger studies are more interesting to see some generalization and to help people who can't try more to pick the ones that will most likely work for them.
