Amazing amazing reviews ... I honestly think super bikes lost their individuality after the 90s ... nowadays all bikes look almost the same .. havw almost the same performance the same.price and the same features. I got hooked on 90s bikes when I got my hands on a beat up 1998 R1 and retored it in its orignal red and white livery... then came 99 Busa ... i am amazed at the reliability of these 90s machines... 8 years since I restored my 98 R1. Its still going strong on just timely oil changes. It even has the same Yoasa battery . Every 3 month I put it on a battery charger over night . Even being carbeuretted I have never felt the need to use the Choke even after weeks of being parked unused it starts right up.

I bought a new GSX 400F [electric blue] it looked absolutely gorgeous! It was the "baby Katana" with similar lines to the bog ones. It had an amazing double peak torque curve, one peak at about 3500, then another about 10,000 rpm. However, the whole package only really 'worked' as a unit when riding at 120kmh - which was above the legal limit where I lived in Australia.

In those days, the engine was the biggest appearance factor on any motorcycle. Now with all of the cladding and body covering, you can't see the engine and even if you did, current engines don't have that look, with air cooling fins, headers coming out of the cylinders feeding the exhaust with a proper Yoshimura logo on the exhaust, the heads with the plug wires and carburetors. Proper looking mechanical components, simple to service and get to.

one of my favourite. if only suzuki will re-issue this design, not the new version. The others are not needed.
