the guy was interview years later and said that he had no regrets, he said that comes with the business. He went on to found and help other companies. internally he might regret it. The reason he sold back his share was because Steve Jobs took out a loan without telling him, something like 50000, which he would be he liable for and he felt that this risk he could not take at the time.

That’s very true, Steve Jobs is one of the greatest minds of all time
@SanjaySingh-oh7hv3 жыл бұрын
I think it's a bit over the top to label him as one of the greatest minds. He made a big impact on personal computing, but the Mac user interface he was most famous for having brought to the market is actually an implementation of the Xerox Star workstation user interface. He was never a technological genius like Wozniak. He was a marketing and salesmanship person who was able to sell the dream of personal computing and build around him teams of highly skilled and dedicated people who shared his vision. This happened with the Macintosh and the NeXT computers. So though he helped shape and define personal computing, he is not one of the greatest minds of all time.

@Roboto1294 жыл бұрын
I would not mind if they made 10x, since things cost whatever people are willing to pay. My beef is the obscenity of taking those jobs to China while making most of their profits from the USA. AND, the broken by design in their product. Something that is $500-$1000 should last a lot longer than they do. It got to the point there was a congressional investigation where it came up they 'glue' parts instead of holding them with screws so the devices would break when trying to fix. And Apple had the face of saying gluing was cheaper and would save the consumers money. I mean, can people not tell that an iPhone 4 or iPad from 2013 was better made than what they make today and sell for more money? Shut, and try to get warranty on that stuff:"Sorry, it appears to have moisture damage" because they put those moisture sensors that change color if you breathe around them as a cop out of their manufacturer warranty.
@emilia-emma.4 жыл бұрын
Love them so much. So many companies are just copycats making money on the back of apple products. Apple is powering ideas and innovations not just products, there is a very big difference. Quality is expensive if you want quality products you pay more, thats how it works. And by quality I don't mean only the materials needed, I mean all the research and analysing there is behind the scenes. If you want the best product you need the best ideas that come from the best minds and they are never cheap and this is exactly how it should be. I would always invest in them by using their products.

Being smart and having empathy rarely goes together. Smart people by nature expect people around them to be at the same level as them. As such they tend to belittle others. Being smart is all about talent. Working hard gets you success. But to be in the top 1%,you have to be talented.
@majlordag18893 жыл бұрын
@Kenneth Grant someone being "less smart than you" is no reason to abuse them, there's a million different fields too, you can't be smart in every field, it's very likely that the other person has talent in something else than you
@apinl88443 жыл бұрын
You have to understand what "abusive" means. First of all, yes he was strict, but that doesn't make him abusive. Many strict parents want their children to be successful. They will spank, hit, smash things at their children, teach them things and have them learn under pressure. These "strict" parents include successful parents. You see, Jobs didn't want his children to become lazy people, who spent all the money they would inheirted after his death. He wanted his children to learn from the start on how hard it was to become the way he was. His daughter never understood Steve. Steve used pressure, he used force, he use abusive ways to change his daughter, but for her own good and future. The last thing he wanted was a spoiled and privileged daughter. I am the son of Asian immigrants. I remember being beaten almost every single time by my father. My father isn't incredibly successful, but he beat me, bunched me, made me bleed, criticized me, and did everything but spoil me. And now, I have no regret. I'm glad he treated me the way he did when I was young. I'm glad he "abused" me. Because I can say I'm now a hard worker, not a spoiled, privileged son. His daughter never understood what Steve wanted her to be. Steve wanted her to be a hard worker in life, but his daughter never really had an interest to be successful. It's always surprising to know that there are actually people on the world, who do not want to be rich, successful, and hardworking. The good thing about that is that it can give others who do want to be successful an oppurtunity.
