If we’re debating tests for D-Pads, I’d say one should absolutely be how easy it is to fly (and fly precisely) in Donut Plains 1 and the first Ghost House in Super Mario World. I know most of the retro handheld reviewers on here love this game to death so I’m surprised not to have seen it ‘til now

Oooooo, now I want this, thanks for Making me want another Powkiddy device, thankfully my X55 is still my only love...just a quick 1 though, I feel like I only started having charging issues on my X55 after I got JELOS, the stock Firmware had no charging issues, wonder if that's the issue with this chipset? Anyway awesome video Adin.

just a headsup. not compatible with v60 cards. someone👀suggested you buy the fastest card you can for it. doesnt accept the faster sdcards. v30 max (huh), which does perform well. v10 is glitchy. downsides are that theres no third party bits for it. switch caps fit if theyre uktra slim only, gecko etc doesnt fit in the little indents/wells in the plastic front, joystick caps dont fit, i havent found any xyab buttons that fit well (frosted jelly cap ones do but need modding) theres no cases, no shells. ive foubd some bits but for looks its going to take a lot of dremmel and glue. rocknix still buggy and the devs are arrogant so not expecting that to last long. hopefully arkos etc. stop denying its existence and offer to take it up. build quality is sub par but polished, and the screen hasnt fallen out like it did on my rgb20. ive fitted a sizely copper heatsink in there under the battery (2mm fits +heatpads, you could get away with 3mm if you dont mind it touching the battery, i used 2 and found a tiny 17x17x5mm fan which im popping in there). it can fit a 10,000mah battery if you get the right size. and im planning on an sdcard selector and upgraded 5w amp and speakers (theres space in those hand grips to put extra components). 10" ios makes a really nice addition. ohh and you cant replace the joysticks with hall effect. they may fit but the powkiddy uses a larger ohm resistor in the switches so the replacements you get for the switch etc wont move your character well. youll get about a 20% range at best and sometimes no movement at all. max4 might fix these lil things i hope.

This has a lovely shape and screen. But I'm burned with the clicky buttons. I just want soft buttons like the RG ARC. Also, how is it possible that PK hasn't realeased the solid black version yet?

I managed to get saving state on shutdown and restoring on boot with the RGB30 on ArkOS. Of course it only works with retroarch cores. And the annoying thing is you need to hold R3 when pressing the power button. I dunno why it can't just be the power button, but it works.

@@adinwalls Actually it has improved quite a bit. Fewtarius and the JELOS Team fixed and stabilized a lot of the issues with Amlogic's A311D. The main problem was the Chipset would randomly Overclock causing games to either Freeze or Crash. This problem only effects PS2 and GameCube games however if you stick to 3DS, Sega Saturn and below Emulation the Chipset doesn't run into this issue.

I'd add the RGB10. The original one. That thing was tiny and did everything it needed to do. Great little system they sadly don't make any more.

Hey. Does anyone have help for hdmi connection? It doesnt auto connect. Then when i choose a game it appers small on the left but wont let me play any games?? Thanks

Hey there I can't remember if there is an HDMI output option in the menu, but I did have to plug in and restart. Also, not all screens work.

I've got one of these! Love the screen, love the comfort, love the software, don't love the d-pad that much, and now... Love the whole device a little less, for some reasons mine is not yellow............ Shoot!

I can't seem to find the menu for controlling the behaviour of the power button :( I am using I think the latest released one, which came out as a "final release" after that had already removed the support for the device officially

I prefer the Powkiddy but the Trimui is really nice with its form factor and large screen.

Great review, it's pocketable but can you sit with it in your pocket? I think a good addition would to be have the pocketable sit test, is it comfortable? Given it's price and comparison to the RP4 pro, this is pretty awesome! I just wish they'd change their name, whoever used "Kiddy" in a phrase that wasn't you know.... Great review once again!

I gave you a like 👍 However, I have both... Did the hush mod on the x55 shoulder buttons, etc. And I find myself preferring the RGB10Max3 on the go. On the couch, to include streaming, I do grab the x55 more often.

Well I agree that if price is no consideration the RP2S is objectively better but I didn’t know about the PC ports thing. Also, if you want a nice big screen the RGB10 max 3 is a great choice. Albeit with some concessions.
