The first three minutes here are useful. The tables of different groupings are much too complicated presented in this way out of context. I have a basic idea of some of this from my limited reading in Greek so far and I hope the by steadily i proving the range of subjects and complexity of texts to acquire what I need. Your sentence based presentations are always helpful. Thank you.

Thank you very much, Andy!! The tables of groupings cannot be avoided if someone wants to give the whole picture. However, the tables are there not for the purpose of being memorized or learned out of context, but to be used as reference when you come across an adjective. Thank you!

Excellent video! I have a question with the last group - 7. Smaller groups of adjectives. Are there rules / tables on how to decline them? What distinguishes them from the others? I was seeing some overlap between them and some from the other groups and became confused.

Hi, Linda!! Thank you very much!! The adjectives in category 7 differ from other categories in the way they form the feminine or neuter form, or in the way they are declined in the plural, or in some other way. For example, the adjective τεμπέλης in the plural has an extra syllable, τεμπέληδες. The same with μερακλής. In the plural it's μερακλήδες. The adjective ευθύς has archaic endings. In the plural, it's ευθείς. The adjectives in ος-ια-ο are declined just like νέος-α-ο. The only difference is that they have another form for the feminine. For example, the adjective κακός has the feminine form κακή, but also κακιά. The same with ξανθός. The feminine is ξανθή, but also ξανθιά. You are right. There is some overlapping in the way they are declined, but the reason they are in different categories can be because of a different feminine form or because of an extra syllable in the plural, or because of archaic endings. Usually, you can find how some of these are declined in Modern Greek grammar books. But, remember that these groups of adjectives are very small. You can be learning an adjective that belongs here as you come across it. It's already a lot of work to learn and remember all the other groups. I hope I have answered your question. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. Thank you!!
